Subject: The 2-minute fix for afternoon neck pain
Hi, it is Afraz. This week: if your neck aches by 3 pm, check where the top of your screen sits. Sit the way you work, look straight ahead and note where your eyes land. If that spot is below the top edge of the screen, the screen is too low and your head drifts forward all day.
The fix: raise the screen until the top edge sits at or just below eye level, 20 to 40 inches from your eyes (that range comes from OSHA). On a laptop, a stand plus a separate keyboard does it. A stack of books works tonight; a stand or arm works for good.
Free tool: enter your height in the Desk Height Calculator and it gives you the monitor height in inches.
That is it for this week. Reply and tell me what you changed.
