I seldom wrote any reviews for any products due to my busy schedule. But this projector impressed me and it helped my kids’ eyes so much, I really want to share my experience with you guys. The Pandemic forced our kids to study from home, which made their screen time to be way much more than before. Doctors warned us about kids’ eyes for the long on-line study time and said that projectors are better than iPad/computer screen, as their screen are farther away. And the doctors also mentioned that if the room ambient brightness is closer to the screen brightness, it may make eyes less stressful. Then we spent a lot of time to search for the right projectors for our kids to try to save their eyes. After so much searching and trying on more than 10 different projectors, we finally found this one that is so good! The best part of the projector is the brightness. We want to keep the curtain open and let some sunlight shining into kids’ rooms to keep them healthy. But for most of the projectors, if there are sunlight directly into the room, the pictures became not clear. The XGIMI Horizontal Pro is the only one that even with some direct sunlight into the same room(as long as it does not directly shining not the same wall), the picture quality is still very good. Before we got this projector, typically kids complained that their eyes are tired after a full afternoon on-line classes, but they never complain again after we use this one. Even when we asked them if they were tired, they sometime answered that their shoulder or arm were tired, but never said their eyes were tired any more. Our recent eye doctor visit also confirmed that their eyes are still good. Still wish the Pandemic will go away very soon, so kids can be back to school. But we don’t worry about kids’ eye that much anymore after we got this wonderful projector. Thanks a lot, XGIMI company, for producing this wonderful product to help my kids’ eyes!!The projector also have excellent video quality. Now every weekend, our whole family get together to watch a new movie together. The video quality made us feel we are watching it from a movie theater. The Pandemic blocked us from going to any movie theaters for over one year already. But we did not miss it that much, as we found a good way to watch the movies already. The audio quality is also good. We did not bother to plug the projector into our expensive home stereo system, as the audio quality is fine and we are a little lazy-;)Another good feature worthy mentioning is the easy set up and convenience. We primarily use the projector for kids on-line classes, but its easy to move the projector around and everything setting and tuning are automatic. The auto-focusing is fast and accurate.I have been leading a couple of core product design engineering teams in Apple and then in Tesla for more than 10 years. Most products from other companies in my eyes can only be rated around 2 to 3. But I really like this XGIMI projector, as its core functionality and overall quality are so impressive. As a matter of fact, I asked our recruiters to pay attention to engineers from this XGIMI company, as they did a fantastic job on this projector.Highly recommend this wonderful projector. And thanks a lot for this projector for helping my kids’ eyes!

If you have a wall and room that you’re tossing up between a TV or projector, definitely go projector. It’s quality, size, low fan noise and experience is just amazing. Any movie feels like you’re in a cinema. The picture quality is unreal, easy to use, fairly responsive android 10 (only downside is no easy way to support netflix directly from the projector, consider a console/firestick). I have it paired via Bluetooth to a bose 900 soundbar and sub and it’s unmatched. If you’re on the fence, go for the projector.

Amazing product! I absolutely love it! Worth the purchase! One hesitation I initially had were reviews by people wishing Netflix was native to the x gimi. Well, it was super easy to download, it even comes with instructions on doing so. The image shown in picture is 142 inches on a plain wall. I’m going to eventually upgrade to a screen, however, in the meantime, it’s still a beautiful picture and projects a beautiful image. I have surround sound almost ready for hookup, but x gimis sound is really good, especially if you want to use it outside, or to travel with. Super easy setup also. I bought a stand that was 40 bucks rather than the one x gimi sells which is well over 100 bucks, and it works perfect.Android tv is simple to use also, Ive been a fire stick person, I was worried at first, but, simple.I also like how small the unit is. I did not want anything huge. The auto focus and ability to adjust picture size is great, and, especially love the auto keystone. I researched for a long time, and, went back and forth with a few other products, and I’m very happy I went with this!! I’ll check back in six months with an update…..6 month update: still absolutely amazing projector! Family and friends are very highly impressed when they come over!My only issue: when purchased I didn’t truly understand Netflix not being native to the x gimi. Now I do! The image is not 4 k and is not crystal clear like the other apps, in fact, it’s not even close. As a result, I usually stay away from watching Netflix on the x gimi. Today we were watching a series from Apple TV, and let me just say, WOW!!!! The x gimi delivers!!!! I just wish they’d come up with an agreement with Netflix and have it as a native app for them! Netflix on our ultra 4 k tv surely delivers, just lacks on the x gimi.

One Minute ReviewAfter several comparisons with other DLP projectors, I decided to try this projector for its reasonable price, impressive specs, and stylish design. And honestly, I couldn’t be happier with my choice. It boasts amazing picture quality on a 120″ screen. The sound is phenomenal, and 2200 ANSI Lumens make it bright enough to use morning, afternoon, and night. However, the most impressive feature is its built-in automatic screen adaptation technology, which takes movies and gaming to exciting new heights.User-Friendliness: 10/10The built-in automatic keystone correction and integrated AI-powered image-sensing algorithm allow it to intelligently identify and avoid obstacles in the projection area and can automatically identify the screen and adjust the image. I placed it on my left nightstand for side projection, and amazingly it automatically avoids both the door and outlet in the projection area. It’s a relief not having to repeatedly adjust the projector’s position to get the perfect picture. It’s also certified by TUV, which ensures better eye protection and reduced blue light exposure. I can enjoy watching for more extended periods without worrying about eye fatigue.Picture and Brightness: 9/10It delivers a stunning 4K (3840×2160) resolution and 8.3 million pixels. I projected on a 120″ screen, and it still provided outstanding clarity and picture detail. I have a 43″ Samsung 4K UHD TV and 75″ Sony 4K XBR Smart TV. The picture quality is better than the 43″ Samsung TV. In complete darkness, the picture is perfect and is very comparable to my 75″ Sony 4K XBR Smart TV. In brighter, daytime environments, the image is watchable but not nearly as good as it is in the dark. So I usually close the curtains during the day or watch movies at night. 2200 ANSI lumens is a lot better than most projectors, but TVs are difficult to replace in terms of brightness.Gaming: 8/10I am an avid gamer, and I’ve tried the projector with my Alienware PC and PS4. After comparing with DLP projectors, this projector has noticeable improvements with lower input lag and latency, which is great for high-action games, like Street Fighter V and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. It won’t beat a traditional gaming monitor, but it is the best inexpensive alternative for those looking for something different.Sound: 8/10The integrated Harman Kardon speakers deliver outstanding sound. This projector also supports DTS Studio and Dolby Audio files, further strengthening the sound quality. However, I prefer a surround sound system (Dolby Atmos sound), so I use the optical out connected to a soundbar. You can also hook up external speakers via HDMI (ARC supported), AUX, or Bluetooth. The Bottom LineI watched countless online video reviews and searched endlessly on Google. When I saw that TechRadar selected Xgimi Horizon pro as the best 4K projector, I decided to give it a try, and I am thrilled that I did. I absolutely recommended it to those who are having trouble deciding which 4K projector to buy.

I got this projector as a TV replacement for a 55” TV, and it was a great decision! The image quality is stunning. I’d recommend you put a light gray background to get more contrast out of it. The size is good, it’s dead silent, and the speakers are clear and can get loud in a small- to medium-sized room. Android TV isn’t the best thing in the world, so I’d rather get an Apple TV for the best experience.

This is going to be veey short because I hate writing reviews. But I feel i have to here. I have owned many TVs in my life. Bought a 47inch FHD when that was still considered big. Upgraded to a 49 inch 4K back when they first started hitting the consumer market. Then went through three different 75inch QLEDs (the most recent of which I do still use in the living room). All of these went into my media room as the “main TV”, but now, my main “TV” is this projector and screen. For the cost, I don’t think there is a better value out there. The picture is exceptional when properly configered and using a good screen and full blackout curtains. I can even do 3D if I want to (and that looks amazing, as good as any theater I been to), which was something that never looked right to me on normal TV’s even when they were 3D compatable and full HD. In game mode, the image is responsive enough that I don’t notice any lag (and custom mode does work reasonably well for the only 3D game I have as well). The contrast is quite good. I will say that I very rarely use the built in smart features, so I can’t really speak to those other than to say that it has android TV with playstore access so there are some varried apps available. Mostly I use my Series X for my gaming and 4K content and an older Sony Blueray player (that I picked up on sale without knowing or caring at the time that it was 3D capable) for my 3D movies. Anyway this projector is easily the best value purchase I have made in terms of my main screen for my media room. I now have a 150 inch screen (which due to the fact that they measure diagonally means four times as big as my 75 Qled) with an excellent picture and decent enough sound (least as good as a TV, though a sound bar and Subwoofer would be a worthwhile addition for larger rooms or those who highly value BASS boost), 3D capabilities (that acrually look good) and true, native 4K display (don’t be fooled by “4K compatible”). Well, guess this ended up being a linger review than I expected. Anyway, I am very please dwith this purchase, though I do highly recomend hooking it up to a streaming device (even a 4K firestick would be an improvement over the native streaming app picture quality from what I’ve seen) and getting a sound bar and subwoofer to complete the “theater experience”. Have a good day, and Jesus bless. Merry Christmas!

Update 2:XGimi has continued to improve the picture with each update. However, my unit had a 19″ fall (the stand tipped over) and stopped focusing. The fall was not covered under warranty. XGIMI offered to replace it at a very reasonable price with a refurbished unit. Their commucation was a little off but less than two weeks later, the replacement has arrived and was at the latest firmware version. I have since purchsed their recommended stand for the projector as the tripod I used was a little unstable.Update:I’ve since upgraded my screen to en Elite Screens 120″ Yard Master 2 and WOW! The picture is substantially improved. The picture is from that screen, I do recomment you add a Firestick if you are wanting Netflix. Thats one service not available on their Android TV App. The 3D works well after the Firmware update. It reads MKS files from a USB flash drive formated NTFS.Original Review:Wow!I bought this as an upgrade to an Optoma HD70 projector i bought in 2006 which has a dimming bulb. I started doing neighborhood movie nights and it just wasn’t quite up to the task. I decided if I was going to upgrade, I might as well go with 4K and LED so I won’t have bulb problems in the future. My screen is a cheap outdoor 100″ diagonal screen.Set up was a snap. I upgraded the firmware and then started playing. I didn’t notice the “green” or “blue” balance others complained about so maybe the new firmware compensated for it. I also didn’t notice a low contrast problem but I did tweak my settings to my liking.Pros* The Sound is excellent but a little bass deficient. It’ll be fine though for a Garage movie night.* It looks and feels like a quality built product. At 6 pounds, it has a little weight to it,* It mounted easily on my inexpensive camera tripod making it a simple set up for movie night.* BlueTooth audio OUT, works great and I tested with my BlueTooth receiver so I can use it outside without connecting any wires. (tripping hazards)* Streaming is simple, just like my smart tv.* Its quiet, at least to my 56 year old ears.* Autofocus is excellentCons:* HDMI BluRay is grainy unless you feed it UHD then its perfect. The upscaling needs tweaking by XGIMi, hopefully in the next update. Streaming even 480p doesn’t have this issue. – Greatly improved with latest firmware.* The overall image, while excellent does suffer from a sharpness that makes it feel a little harsh but not much different from my 4K Samsung television.* Auto-keystone over compensates on my screen and I need to fine tune it. Although, it does give a nice proportioned image to start with. This may be my cheap Walmart screen causing the issue.* I’m not a Netflix subscriber but I do have Britbox which is not natively supported. – Britbox is now native.* Rainbow effect. If you leave motion compensation ON, you may experience them. Off, they’re just an occassional fleeting thing and not really any different from my old Optoma DLP.If you don’t mind the HDMI graininess/noise, then this is an excellent choice especially if you mostly stream your content and want a portable/semi-permanent solution. If you primarily use HDMI 1080p and below sources, you might want to look at the Horizon which is a 1080p projector.I gave it a 4 star for picture quality because of the graininess of HDMI input and 4 star for value because a speakerless 4K projector may be a better choice for you.

Second Edit: 07.14.24: Customer Support was amazing. I sent the projector back & received a new one.—EDIT: 06.04.24: Projector died within six months of operation from apparent hardware failure.—This is an amazing product. It delivers on all aspects. Can be used during the day with the curtains open and looks absolutely fantastic at night (or during the day since I have heavy black curtains). It meets all expectations except native Netflix support. After my AV receiver went into protect mode, I found my HDMI 5 port switch for the Xbox, PlayStation, 4k Chromecast, Laptop, and Tablet in order to switch between the hardware after my AV receiver died. Because my AV receiver went into protect mode and had to use the internal Harmon speaker system, I found myself very surprised with the internal sound quality and can fill a good size living room. And, customer service was responsive for a non-issue. I received an email about the product asking if everything was ok after it shipped. I responded on a Sunday a month later during the holidays and they wrote back on Monday happy that everything was ok. I would buy the product again instead of a TV even though a home projector will almost never look as good as a TV for the most part – compared to visual aspects of my 4k TV with HDR; in which a TV is brighter, it looks more like somewhere between 2k and 4k visually – but, 150 inches compared to 75 inches, I will take the big screen all day long with this product.

The media could not be loaded. I must admit I am blown away by this projector the deeper of the operating system and just bit bright and color accurate this projector is. It also sounds pretty nice too and it looks great in a compact form. I also dropped my projector twice from about 9feet up while trying to mount it in the ceiling with a cheap mount. On a side note The color of my walls give me a better image than my projector white screen I prefer the look of the heron grey image vs that. And this was bright than the short throw projector I tested it against and it didn’t show the imprefections in my wall curve as the other projector did which was rated at 2500Lumens but yet was actually dimmer despite having a laser source.
