The media could not be loaded. I purchased this phone to replace my old UMIDIGI A9 Pro. Compared to the A9, this phone has a slightly larger screen and a longer battery life. It came nicely packaged like the A9 but with an US charger instead of an European. Camera is 50Mpx compared to 48Mpx. Storage is 128GB storage instead of 64GB. Video streaming was very smooth, sound quality was decent, and comes with the latest Android 13.What I didn’t like about the phone was the FM radio feature, it was barely functional but I don’t listen to the radio on my phones. I wished it came with a 3.5mm headphone jack like the A9, inconvenient if you use a wired headphone and needs to charge at the same time.

Unfortunately, I Do not have the best cellular service and have not been able to get a SIM card that works with this phone. I will say that it does seem to be very durable, but at this time I cannot speak on anything else. I will update my review once I am able to get the correct SIM.

Not going to lie, for the price of this phone this is a great deal. Not just for the specs alone but the build itself makes this quite a deal. It’s water proof and rugged. Hubby can have this on the job and worry less for sure. It’s got built in bumpers. The glass is shatterproof and if he drops it in puddle… or whatever other crazy thing that can happen that probably will happen… this phone will make it through.Hubby needs to take detailed pics on the job, of blueprints, parts and materials, updates and etc. This phone is guaranteed to capture all of the details and with the amount of storage available he can hang on to whatever he needs to for however long he needs.Plus there’s plenty of space for personal items too. The battery life is great! We both do not charge our phones unless we need to anyway, but this phone has went 3 days so far and is just now needing charging. That’s with his video watching too. The battery is great.Hubby is really good about closing down apps and shutting pages down once done. That saves on the data and speed usage. Those who aren’t used to doing so may experience lag if you’ve got numerous apps or tabs running at once.In my opinion, however that is to be expected with a more affordable phone. All of the other specs really make this a good deal! The reception is great. Clear calls. No drops so far. Just overall a great phone at a great price!

This UMIDIGI G5 Mecha rugged smartphone is a fantastic option for anyone needing a durable and capable device without breaking the bank. The rugged design, with its IP68/IP69K waterproof and dustproof rating, gives me confidence that it can handle tough environments and accidental drops. The phone boasts impressive specs for the price, including a generous amount of RAM and storage (expandable up to 1TB!), a large 6.6-inch screen, and a long-lasting 6000mAh battery. The Android 13 operating system ensures a smooth and up-to-date user experience. If you’re looking for a phone that’s built to last and doesn’t skimp on features, the UMIDIGI G5 Mecha is definitely worth considering.

Let’s face it, you don’t get much in way of a smartphone in this price range. 8 gigs of RAM is insane for a budget phone. I’m not what you would call a power user, I’m not a gamer, I’m just a normal person who uses my phone for calls and texts and a little bit of internet browsing here and there. The display is nice, on par with my older Motorola Moto G. It’s taking me a little bit getting used to the layout and where everything’s located within the phones software, as the Motorola phones I’m used to are almost stock Android. Call Quality is good, the speaker’s fine, the phone is snappy, quicker than my older Motorola I believe. I haven’t really gotten any stutters or hang ups to speak of. Quality seems very good, the phone feels Rock solid in the hand. Camera is fine, I’m not a huge picture taker, but it seems to take very nice pictures and video. I can’t really speak to battery life other than saying I plug my phones in every night so battery life has never been an issue for me. That being said it seems at least on par with my Moto g, it gets me through the day and I usually have at least 80% left at the end of the day, sometimes more. I’m using this with a Verizon sim, I can’t speak to other carriers compatibility. Overall this is a really good phone for the price in my opinion.

The very first thing I noticed that makes this phone stands out from other phones, even premium phones, is its ruggedness. Most phone users have their phones protected with a case. For those who are adventurous, or hate added bulk that cases add to the phone, so you get something like this. Basically, it’s a phone with a built-in case, plus the extra seals and protection from water, sand, and dust. The other noticeable things are the good specs: 8GB of RAM, plus another 8GB of “soft” RAM, or virtual RAM, 128GB of memory, and a very generous and rare 6,000mAh battery, which allows this phone to easily last you through the day. However, and this is where you have to cut costs to make the phone only $170, is the very slow CPU/processor. If you do simple tasks, or use one app at a time without switching to other apps, then it’s fine. However, as you use more and more apps throughout the day, the phone starts to lag because the slow processor can’t keep up. So to be perfectly honest with you, I do not recommend this as your main phone. What this is ideal for, is a secondary phone, especially if you do a lot of traveling. As a secondary or emergency phone, it would last you all day, and if you just use it to make calls, send texts, use a texting app, etc. then it’s perfectly fine. So at a $170, especially if you’re going on an extended overseas trip, this phone would be a great complement to say your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy.

For an affordable smartphone, this device really punches above its weight class in terms of performance and functionality. While it may not match the bells and whistles of a premium flagship, it still delivers a snappy and satisfying experience for daily use.The processor keeps things humming along nicely, allowing apps to open quickly and operations to feel smooth and responsive. The display, though not top-of-the-line, has decent color reproduction and gets bright enough for outdoor visibility. You won’t get mind-blowing visuals, but it’s more than sufficient for browsing, videos, and casual games.Where this phone really shines is its ease of use and wealth of features for the price point. Setup is a total breeze, and it comes packed with all the core functions you’d expect like mobile hotspot, contactless payments, respectable camera quality, and superb battery life. It just works without any fuss. While it can’t compete with the latest ultra-premium models, this smartphone still has a lot to offer, especially as a secondary device or affordable daily driver. The solid build quality and reliable performance make it a perfect choice for those who prioritize function over flash. For the money, you’re getting excellent value in a capable, no-nonsense package.
