I’m reading some of these reviews and I’m like what are these ppl talking about!!!1st off the battery…I have had no problems with a full charge lasting more than 2 days and that includes some serious on screen time.. I play a few games, surf the net, watch Netflix. I listen to music while at the gym and In the car utilizing Bluetooth and my battery holds up fine. The case and screen protector that comes with the phone is pretty good at this price point… I have dropped my phone a couple of times from pretty decent distances and not a scratch on it. (so far)As for the camera…Open camera from the Google play store will solve all your camera issues will let you record in 4k and the pictures come out very clear and pretty damn decent for a $200 phone. If I did have any complaints it would be headphone output isn’t what I’m used to…mind you I’m coming from the LG brand flagship phones to this phone so I do miss the sound quality but it makes up for it head over heels in the Bluetooth..Bluetooth is definitely louder and clearer on my aftermarket audio.Someone said it had spy Chinese firmware….I don’t know where they got that crap from but this phone has pure Android no bloatware at all it’s snappy and as fast as it is responsive and I love the basic ui.. If you’re in to app launchers then by all means.. but I just love the simplicity of the UI design. The NFC works great I’ve had no problems with it and the Wi-Fi picks up my dual bands at home no problems..I am on T-Mobile….the phone worked fine out of the box upon insetting sim card. and I get nothing less than 4g.I bought the black one for myself the red one for my wife and she loves it just as much as I do, it runs smooth with no issues almost 2 weeks out of the box.For $200 phone the specs that you get are very decent I will say the two biggest cons to me are the fingerprint scanner which is kind of hit-or-miss but you also have to remember it’s highly dependent on how you scan your finger in the first place and secondly the audio output through headphones….Lastly the facial recognition… it’s pretty decent it recognizes me 80% of the time with no problem even in a darker room which surprised me..All in all it’s a GREAT phone for the price. With a pure Android..snappy and easily manuverable UI. Great battery life and charge speed. (Plug directly into an outlet for the best charging experience.)You have to remember this is a new company and sometimes when you have a new product that you build from scratch there will be problems so I don’t doubt the people do have problems with their devices but my experience has been absolutely wonderful don’t hesitate to give it a try..I’m even thinking of buying the UMIDIGI smartwatch next..UPDATE 11-7-2019:Wife’s phone went out all of a sudden last month. It just shut off and never turned back on. After three or four days of going back and forth with UmiDigi support. Once we exhausted all support options I contacted the seller and within about 10 days time I have a new replacement. My wife loves her phone, I don’t know what happened but I know sometimes things just go out and I’m glad we had the warranty to cover it..Thanks again UMIDIGI.P.s we both have the Uwatch 2 and the new earbuds just came.. out we love the brand!

Just over a year ago I purchased what was one of the best budget phones in 2018: the Honor 7x. I gave it 5 stars and it deserved them, because it was a great phone for the money. But here we are only a year later with the Umidigi F1, and it’s amazing how much more you can get!Start with the display. The F1’s display is bigger, sharper and brighter than the 7x, and with better viewing angles. It fills the front of the phone with only a teardrop notch and minimal chin. The colors are vibrant and more visible in the sun. The glass on the screen is also much less of a fingerprint magnet than the 7x.Then you get 4 gigs RAM (instead of 3 in the 7x) and a whole 128 gigs of storage, plus you can still add the SD card. And the battery is a huge 5150 mAh, fully 2000 more than the 7x. Never a worry about a charge.Additionally this phone comes with a very quick charging USB-C connection, NFC so Google-Pay can be used, and a speaker that has more volume and a bit better sound than my 7x. Both, thankfully have retained the headphone jack. Sound quality, either through the headphone jack or USB, is very good.Call quality is about the same on both phones, no complaints either on normal calls or speaker. The fingerprint sensor is good, but not quite as good as the Honor 7x (It’s slightly less consistent and also can’t do as many other things, like open notices, etc.), but facial recognition is better. Once you’re in, performance throughout is snappy and silky smooth with no noticeable lag or stutter (I’m not a gamer so I haven’t tested it at the limits, but it’s better than the 7x, probably because of the extra 1 gig RAM). I’ve had no problem with connectivity either on WIFI or 4g LTE, and it switches between the two with less hiccups than the Honor. GPS is accurate and seems to find me better quicker than the Honor did.The phone’s size is virtually identical to the 7x, except slightly thicker to accommodate the bigger battery. But it’s slightly more round in back so it actually feels smaller in hand. Contrary to what some have said, the back seems to be plastic, not metal. It has a rubberized finish that has better grip without a case than glass or the 7x’s metal. If doesn’t look as premium as glass, but is much more durable. It comes standard with a good looking and grippy black case which protects the back and sides well, but could use a bit bigger protective lip on the front. It also has a plastic screen protector already applied. It’s not easy to find a good replacement case on Amazon or anywhere else in this country. I ordered a couple on AliExpress. We will see how they stack up.The F1 came out of the box with practically stock Android Pie, which I like. It supports either gestures or the old navigation buttons, and has pieces of a Dark Mode which show up automatically depending on what wallpaper you choose, but which you cannot choose by itself (Notice the volume slider bar and the folder windows in the pics). I do miss some of the Huawei EMUI mods, especially the one-handed mode, since this is a big phone, but on the whole it’s good, and there is NO bloatware. Umidigi is a smaller company, though, so we will have to see how many updates the software gets.If there was one place the Honor 7x was better, it is the camera department. Not the cameras themselves—they’re about equal to the 7x in photo quality, and better in video—but the app. The one that comes with the phone is very bare-bones, while the Honor 7x had many good options. I have downloaded Open Camera, which is good, and also Moment Pro Camera, but I don’t think my search for a camera app I’m happy with has finished. Also, strangely, it came with no Gallery app, and none of the ones I’ve tried have the editing capabilities of the gallery that came with the Honor 7x. Now I have to do my editing in an outside app. It’s doable, but a bit of a pain [UPDATE: The New Google Photos Go gallery app has filled the bill for a good replacement for the missing gallery). All in all, however, this is one impressive little phone. What you get is leaps and bounds over what was available just a year ago and, with the coupon I used at the time, it actually cost me $10.00 less than the 7x. I highly recommend it.UPDATE: I’ve gotten 3 system updates since I bought the phone, which was unexpected. And the latest one had a security update and a much better camera app. Thank you, Umidigi. The phone is now everything I want.

I want to start by saying I was very skeptical about buying this phone because I have never heard of UMIDIGI. Lets face it, $200 is $200. To me that is still a lot of money to take a risk on a brand I have never heard of. Within the last year I have had a Galaxy S8, Xiaomi MI A2 Lite, and a Motorola G6 Play(for comparison). Below are the reasons why I got rid of those phones and chose this phone…Phone must have:1. Large battery with good battery life (sorry Galaxy S8)2. All LTE bands for US (Sorry Xiaomi I need band 17)3. A decent processor (Sorry G6 Play….so SLOW)4. NFC5. 1080p (not necessary but definitely a plus)6. Decent cameraI find myself drawn to the phones India and China get because they are practical. Midrange specs with good battery life and decent camera, I don’t need a flagship phone. When I used GSM Arena’s phone finder and put the specs in I was looking for(including LTE bands), this was the only phone that kept coming up that was in my price range. So I decided to take a chance on the F1 since it had all the things I felt were important in a phone.I have been very pleased with the phone so far(3 weeks of use now)! There are a fewsmall problems, I’m not sure if these are related to UMIDIGI software or Android Pie, since this is my first phone with Pie. The main issue I have is some of my home automation like Ring and August don’t receive notifications unless I am already in the app. I don’t get notified when somebody rings the door bell or my August lock doesn’t auto unlock(working with August on that). There again, I don’t know if that is an issue with Android Pie or UMIDIGI. I don’t get notificatons for my Messenger app either. I have made sure notifications were turned on for those apps and battery optimization was turned off. I get all the notifications for phone calls and texts which is most important to me.The battery life has been really good! That might be why I don’t get my notifications, but its been worth it. I can typically go 2 days without charging. I attached pics of some of the battery usage. Note last charge time and screen on time.Camera is decent, not as good as my S8 but wasn’t expecting it to be. Sometimes I have to take a picture several times in order to get a good one. The picture of my dog was taken in complete darkness, it took 3 tries to get that one. The picture of my shoes was with the Bokeh effect turned all the way up. So if you don’t mind taken a few pics in order to get the good one, then this camer will work for you. There has been 2 software updates so far, one when I first got the phone and one within the last couple of weeks. The latter fixed a bug with deleting pictures, the trash label was partially missing. Now with that update there is a bug where changing to multiple windows and clearing them individually the window shakes for a few seconds. Nothing big but I hope UMIDIGI will come out with a software update to fix that too. I think if UMIDIGI stays on top of their software updates they could be the next Xiaomi. Software was really my main concern about buying this phone. It would be REALLY NICE to see UMIDGI started using Android One platform.I tried to touch on some of the things that weren’t out there. If you want to know about the screen, finger print reader, sound etc…. I think that has been covered well enough with other reviews….UPDATE: There was another update and it fixed the window shaking problem I had. Pretty impressed that they have been updating the phone to fix minor bugs. Keep it up UMIDIGI!Would like to see a security patch update though…UPDATE 2: At work I have noticed that my phone calls have been less than stellar. When making a call I put it on speaker phone and watched the screen and noticed that it will switch from 4G to 3G when making calls. I work at a camp and it is isolated, we have 4G towers at camp so we have really good 4G signal but we have almost no 3G. Needless to say this has been a problem, not having a signal for phone calls, and when I do they have been choppy. I don’t think this is an issue with UMIDIGI but with Cricket/ATT. They don’t recognize unlocked phones for VoLTE. I talked to their technical support to no avail. Just to make sure I checked my unlocked Moto G6 Play and it does the exact same thing. Now this was never a problem at my house where we get a really good 4G and 3G signal. This has been enough of a nuisance at my work that I had to get a new phone. Since it had to be a Cricket/ATT branded phone in order to get VoLTE I picked up the Motorola G7 Supra since battery life is the most important thing for me.I have also noticed some connectivity issues with Bluetooth headphones. It losses volume for a split second and then comes back on. This might happen every 5 minutes or so.For people complaining about short battery life they must have a rogue app or something. I have never had less than 40% battery life left at the end of the day, and that was using my phone a lot.All that being said I still really like the phone. It looks like my son will be upgrading to an F1.

The media could not be loaded. I bought the UMIDIGI A7 Pro Unlocked Cell Phone (4GB+64GB) in Cosmic Black. I was very skeptical as my previous purchase of an old UMIDIGI model turned out to be a disappointment. But the A7 Pro has been a pleasant surprise. As you can see in my unboxing video, the phone comes pretty decently boxed. You open to find a “Thank you” note which is nice. The phone is well-protected on both sides with protective plastic film and what felt even better was it came ready with a screen protector (along with a phone case!). Under the phone, the instruction manual is nicely enveloped, clipped with a SIM tray opener and beneath is the USB – C charger. Straight out of the box, I put the phone on charge and after it reached 100% I transferred all my data from my old phone through Google in a jiffy. Updates were pretty fast and it did not drain the battery as much as I expected. I have run the phone for a day with social media, emails, browsing at full blast and I need to charge now after approx. 36 hours. Camera takes pretty good picture. Sound quality is crisp with 4G LTE VOLTE. Although the OCTA-CORE processor claims to be robust, I have to keenly observe and perhaps get back as I am not into gaming. The convenience of having dual SIM running capacity is a plus. Overall, pretty good phone for the price. Those who are thinking about giving this a try, don’t hesitate. It’s worth it.

Update after 1+ month of use: Excellent phone. Absolutely no regrets buying it.Some more Pros:Fast charging is great. Takes ~1 hour to charge from 10 to 90%.Some more Cons:Phone heats up during fast charging. I hope this doesn’t end up damaging the phone.Original review:I have been using this phone for a day. So far, I am really happy with this phone. below are some Pros and Cons:Pros:1. Looks premium. The case that’s included also looks good.2. The display is elegant.3. Massive battery: Been using it heavily for a day, and still ~50% charge remaining.4. I didn’t experience any lag during my use. This is my first experience of Android P. Split-screen multitasking was wonderful.5. Of course, price.6. No bloatware. However, there are several pre-installed apps (e.g. FM radio) that I do not need.Cons:1. Fingerprint sensor fails about a third of the time. The finger needs to be placed in some specific position. Since the sensor is in the back, and the phone is big for my hand, it is somewhat inconvenient.2. Face unlock fails in bright/dark light.3. Whatsapp camera is not aligned with my device camera. Pictures taken using my Whatsapp camera have some part of the left cut off. I didn’t see this issue with the device camera. Seems like Whatsapp and UMIDIGI should work together to find a solution.

My experience is bittersweet….I am from a very large family when we find something good we share! I purchased 1 for myself and 2 as gifts. Also encouraged my sister to purchase as we were all in need of update on phones.I personally set up all of the phones and 3 out of 4 were successful. They are extremely pleased with this brand of cell phones!!My phone on the other hand came locked according to my carrier. In my opinion a company is great when all is going good. How they handle customer issues is what determines there there quality as a company.Im not sure where to start do i go back to amazon, the seller or can can they just contact me to unlock it???I am glad the others went smoothly 😊.UPDATE: while umidigi directs trouble shooting was extremely slow,I tried a different sim card on a whim. It worked! I have cell service once again😊Takeaway….the device is great! I pretty much agree with the other pros and cons i read in the reviews here. Just know customer not exactly top notch for umidigi direct.Loving this phone for the price!!

This is my second phone I’ve purchased from Umidigi – my F1 Play kept soldiering on after I shattered the screen by dropping it on cement about 15 times through food deliveries.I’m pleased to say that unit was still going (albeit handicapped) when I finally decided to spring for the A7 Pro.For the money you’ll be hard pressed to find something comparable – I’m pleased with the power, screen brightness, and all the extras that came with the phone (attached extra screen protector and a slim form fitting case). The fingerprint reader is fast and snappy (actually improved upon from my F1) and I really can’t complain for the price.Let’s get one thing straight, this phone is not a flagship killer but it’s damn good for the money.I work 12 hour shifts and depend on my phone for every single delivery. Through rain and snow, drops, falls, and slams in my car door it keeps soldiering on like a reliable friend. If you need something durable, with a bright screen, great battery, and a price that won’t destroy you if it breaks, get this phone. It’s the working man’s phone.

I’ve owned two F1s (first one was stolen) and I’ve loved both. If I lose my current F1 I’ll buy a third!Pros:- Incredible battery life; I use mine pretty extensively and I regularly get two and even three days out of a charge.- 128Gb of storage is crazy at this price point.- This phone feels very fast and has plenty of memory for multitasking- The camera image quality is actually surprisingly good for the price point- Virtually stock android is the way to go; there’s basically no bloatware on this phone which I really appreciate- Headphone jack!!!!!!- The screen is quite nice- How is this thing $200?- The phone comes with a case and screen protector installedCons:- I haven’t gotten the fingerprint reader to work well on either phone. It usually takes several tries to unlock.- The camera image quality is good, but autofocus is terrible and low-light performance is pretty poor- The speakers are good, but max volume is a tad low.

I bought this phone to use at home and in Europe, to avoid having to carry two phones. It works great with AT&T prepaid (replacing an AT&T-branded Huawei phone) as well as in Europe (using a OneSIMcard). In the past, I had inserted the OneSIMcard into the AT&T phone while in Europe, which worked fine for phone calls and messages, but was spotty for data. With this phone, you insert both SIM cards, and then simply select which one you want to use. Besides that, I also like the display and the much-improved speed compared to the old phone. The fingerprint reader works pretty much 100% of the time, virtually instantly, and face recognition works most of the time. The battery typically lasts more than two days (I haven’t run it down to test the maximum), which is very important to me especially while traveling. Some people criticize the camera, but I found it to be quite adequate for a phone camera, as it is not the primary reason why I bought this phone. I’m happy with this phone.
