I’m in love with these headsets, it was just plug and play. The app is very useful to change the EQ preset according to the game I play on Xbox. There was no need to do extra steps to get these to work, although you might need a PC in order to update the firmware with SteelSeries GG software. The headset feels comfortable and I barely feel I have them on after several hours (I have a small head). The sound is very clear, I can notice small details while gaming, no heavy bass boost or any extra sound feature that make the sound uncomfortable like explosions in game. It is a well balanced sound and they are very loud that I barely keep them 100% the volume, with SteelSeries GG software on PC you can customize the EQ how you like for competitive shooter games or any other games you play. I feel the default EQ presets I tried were really nice, some people have issues with some default EQ presets but you can always tweak it with GG software ¯_(ツ)_/¯.The SteelSeries App just works, it was easy to set up and there is no delay while changing the EQ preset. However you cannot make a custom preset from the app, you might need to install SteelSeries GG software on your PC and create the EQ preset on Engine section. You can set the Equalizer for 2.4Ghz connection or BT, having an EQ gaming preset for 2.4Ghz and EQ music preset for BT, there is no need to switch it over again after switching to Xbox/PC or phone. There is no delay or distortion issue with the dongle on Xbox or PC, I feel the delay on these headsets are very minimum, dialogues are always synced. on mobile I just use it to listen audios or watch short videos that I don’t care much how it works there but it works really nice and there is no delay at all. Bluetooth on PC I wished I can test it and I hope to do it soon.A quick tip if you move the dongle back and forth on Xbox and PC, you can install the Xbox Accessories app on PC and use the dongle on Xbox mode on PC, this just works ¯_(ツ)_/¯Noted: These headsets will only work Wireless, with either the original dongle or Bluetooth. There is no wired solution or to pair it with Xbox Wireless Adapter on PC, I wished these two options were available for versatility. and there is no simultaneously BT connection, you either have it connected via dongle or have it connected via BT but you cannot listen to both at the same time, the quick switch just works really fast tho.I still haven’t tried really well the battery life for these headsets, I’ve been using it a lot to tweak things and use it on Xbox, PC and phone that battery life just lasted a week, I will measure it with a normal use later on. (hopefully I didn’t get a deflective one since 1 week was pretty short according to their 60hr battery life advertisement)—I hope to get back to this review for long term review, in my opinion SteelSeries did a good job making these headsets for this price comparing to others brands for what it offers. It is really worth the purchase if you mainly use Xbox and PC for gaming.

I’ll start off by saying that I was always the type of person who didn’t believe in paying $100+ for a gaming headset, I always bought budget to mid tier headsets as I didn’t think there would be a noticeable difference in quality, so when I heard about the new Arctis Nova 5, I was hesitant, the price seemed a little higher than I was willing to pay, but I’ve seen a few reviews for this headset and I was intrigued by some of the features it offers, 60 hour battery life, which is quite good compared to a lot of other wireless headsets that usually offer a 20-25 hour battery life, a companion app that has a ton of game presets, bluetooth connectivity for when you wanna use it on your phone or laptop without having a dongle sticking out of your device, decent mic quality, great sound, great build quality, a design that doesn’t scream “I’M A GAMER” so it even looks a little professional, and great comfort, it seemed perfect, it was everything I ever needed from a wireless gaming headset, so I decided to spend the extra money and buy this headset, and wow I was pleasantly surprised and proven wrong, it completely delivered, and in some cases exceeded what I was hoping to get from this headset, you get premium features, sound quality, and build quality for a relatively affordable price, you get what you pay for, and more, the term “affordable luxury” that SteelSeries used to market this headset isn’t just a marketing term, it describes the headset perfectly.

I have used the Arctis Nova 5 for 2 days now on my PC, mobile, android tablet and so far I have no complains. Connecting from one device to another is seamless. The companion app sure is helpful not only to config but also to keep track of the battery life. Coming from Arctis 7, which is still rocking after 4 yrs of use. I can say that this is a major upgrade in terms of comfort and mic quality. The headband is so light weight that it barely feels that you have something on. Can definitely wear this for hours! The battery life was also greatly improved.TLDR – If you have multiplatform with Bluetooth connectivity, this is a no brainer – this is a must get! I have already the mouse Rival 650 wireless and the mousepad – hope to complete my full Steelseries setup soon!

Like the title says, the companion app is a game-changer. Being able to set EQs (including customs) with a couple taps in the app for every game you play truly makes a sonic difference in gameplay. I’m also really impressed with the sound quality. To my ears they sound just as good as my Nova 7X, though not quite as on par with the Nova Pro Wireless but that’s expected for a headset that costs 3x as much. I like to customize my headsets with Wicked Cushion ear pads because I think they’re significantly more comfortable than the stock pads, and I wish the 5X had swappable side plates like the 7X and Pro, but I understand they need to reserve some features for the more expensive headsets. I’m guessing product updates to the Nova 7s and Pros are right around the corner to give them their own apps as well, but if you’re looking for an excellent-sounding, lightweight, long-lasting headset right now then this is the one to get. $130 is a steal for what they offer.

I’ve had some trouble finding a decent pair of headphones for my series x that isn’t cheap crap, these babies are neither cheap nor crap. Comfortable and just as important, connecting the headset to your console is near effortless. The built in setting the cancels out sound is a life saver too. Overall, couldn’t be happier.

Haven’t had it for too long but it’s extremely comfortable the phone app is super nice being able to change presets through the phone and having a preset for Bluetooth and one for 2.4 is amazing. The Sonar EQ works wonders, a little complicated at first but I worked it out eventually. The ability to be connected to Bluetooth and 2.4 is super nice, when you are on 2.4 and get a phone call it makes a quite phone ring noise to let you know you are getting a call and you can press the swap button to pick it up and swap to Bluetooth. It’s a super nice feature. I think between the steel series GG(on PC) app, preset game EQ’s, phone app, solid mic, and other features of the headset make it the best in its price range. Plan on updating for long time use in the future.

After doing some minor tuning in the GG software I’ve come to really like this headset. First thing you should do before gaming with these is go into the software and remove volume limiter, it makes a huge difference! If you don’t like hearing yourself when you speak you can also remove that by using the “mic side tone” dial which is right next to volume limiter. You can also find sound presets for pretty much any game and they work well.

Just bought these and received today (ps5 steel series arctic 5p wireless) – sound on pairing was ok… then I paired to phone and used equalizer preset for Dead by Daylight and played a couple rounds…. IT WAS AMAZING SOUND! On top of that it picked up mic for stream without cable and being hard wired! These were worth the just over 100 I paid!

if you dont know anything about audio or don’t really need “the best” headphones for chatting with your friends over discord, definitely check these out. the overall quality is really nice id say its a quality of a $200 headset. audio quality of $150 headphones but not sure about the Mic have not used it to much but i really like the seamless change between my PC and my Phone. i can be chatting with friend on my PC and hear im getting a phone call and im able with pick up and hang up the phone with out needing my phone near me.this headset will definitely be becoming my new default go to

It’s a great headset and worth the price, but for me personally the earmuffs are pretty big and prone to slipping when I bend down. Other than that, the headset is great and the point I mentioned before should not be a deterrent to anyone wanting to purchase it.
