Should have gotten this sooner!
Good camera to monitor activity I would otherwise miss. Everything from when mail and packages are delivered, to when someone is in my driveway orat my door. Oh and battery life is good too. It has been a month and it still has about half of the battery power left.

Easy Setup
This product was installed on a rental property so that we could monitor the traffic coming into the home. We don’t allow overnight guests . Setup was easy. The only issue I had was that you need to purchase the chime kit otherwise you wont know someone is at the door. I had a early morning delivery and I missed it my because my phone was not near me. lolMake sure you set it at the right height so that you can see your packages. If you have rental property you might want to get this vs other brands because people know RING. They may relax on privacy concerning questions.

I love this, I am 60 yrs old and live in an apartment, there is nothing that I can say that is bad, except this, and I don’t think this is bad but to some, it maybe. You have to subscribe ant it is from 5.00 a mth or 10.00 or 20.00 mth but for me the 5 dollar a month is perfect. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent doorbell
My wife and I purchased this doorbell and couldn’t be happier! We were able to find an anti theft case for it easily. The camera and motion detector work very well same goes for the night vision. We were able to easily connect this to our Alexa device. The microphone works very good as well. We weren’t home one day and had a relative stop by when we weren’t home and I held a whole conversation with them over the doorbell, the said they could fully understand me and didn’t have any issues I interpreting what I was saying.

Upgrade
I had a generic brand front door camera from Amazon and loved it for the past two years. Recently decided I needed an upgrade and have been using this Ring Doorbell Camera for a few months now. The difference is notable, the video and sound quality is phenomenal.

Gotcha
Works great. But get the unit that comes with the inside alert/doorbell. Better than if you have wired it to your existing doorbell. And if you have to mount other than the existing doorbell, consider the solar model, a little more in cost but worth it. Wish I had gotten that one. But the battery last a long time so either works well.

Waited too long to get one!
This was easy set up, ready to use in no time. Purchased the additional solar box as the Ring would be in sun almost all day long. Purchased in May ’24 and never once has my battery shown less than full, so no removing and charging the battery! Plus plus! Works exactly as described. Took a bit of adjustment to get to perform accurately for our package settings. Should’ve made the purchase long before now. If you’re on the fence~get it! You won’t regret it!

It’s good so far
Arrived on time and in working order. It’s my second Ring doorbell camera, this one is for the back door. If it works as good and long as the first, all will be well. I like Ring, I ditched another brand cameras even though I got seven day free cloud storage.

Amazing and very cost efficient.
Easy setup with easy to follow instructions. Picture is super clear and you can set the area it shows and records. Even at night the picture is crisp and not much difference from day time.Sound quality is super clear and sounds like they are standing right in from of you. There is so much you can do to make this work that’s specific to you and your needs. They offer prerecorded messages that can play when someone rings the bell with options of what you would like to say. We get a lot of solicitors in my area so I have it set to tell them we are not Interested. Works like a charm. They also offer holiday versions with the ability to leave a message. All at no extra cost.We have 2 ring outdoor cameras and they all sync up easily. You get the first month (I think) of saved video for later viewing for free then there is a monthly or yearly charge to continue to save with no limit on amount saved. The yearly price is $100. which is super cheap compared to other brands. That price is for all of doorbell and cameras too.Overall the best option in doorbell cameras out there.

Good camera, keeps a good eye on things!
I have been having issues with my neighbors overstepping their boundaries at our apartment complex, the last one where they were on my front steps. After that incident I immediately began looking at cameras both as a deterrent and for evidence if they were to do something like that again. I know many people with the ring doorbell, so I thought that would be a good optionThe doorbell was easy to install and setup, it has a bracket with 4 screws that the doorbell itself clips to and has 2 security screws to prevent theft. Before putting it in place it has to be charged, as long as you’re using battery. It took about 2 1/2 hours to charge from a quarter battery out of the box. It includes a charging cable and all mounting hardware out of the box. After running it for a week on default power settings I am down to 89% battery, so it’ll last a while, but it’ll have to be taken down for a few hours occasionally to be charged. My one wish was that the battery was removable so I could have 2 packs I could swap out, but it isn’t the end of the world.Video quality is pretty good on it, day time viewing is great. Night vision is a little dark to see, but it is on me due to where I had to mount it. I mounted it directly on the door, the only problem with that is it picks up the white trimming around the door more than anything in the dark. My solution was to put a small motion activated light under it, it allows me to see the footage alright if someone happens in the dark. Under better mounting circumstances it works well at nightThe ring app has a very nice interface, it is very user friendly and you can easily save clips if needed. The app will notify you of motion or people at the door, so you can see quickly what’s going on. It will also allow you to change settings on the camera to save power and such. In terms of connection issues, I haven’t had any that other users have reported. However the WiFi access point it’s connected to is only a few feet away through the wall so I really can’t speak about installations further away. It is worth noting that it only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi, I would check what your network supports first. There is a subscription, Ring Protect, for this and other ring cameras. It’s 3.99 for 1 camera, $10 a month for all cameras, or $20 for a “pro plan” with 24/7 monitoring. For 1 doorbell camera I am using the $3.99 one, however if I ever need more cameras I would definitely use the $10 one.It is also compatible with Alexa, I am able to use my echo speaker as a ringer for when someone pushes the bellOverall I am very happy with this doorbell camera I would definitely recommend it. I know a lot of people wouldn’t like the subscription part, but it makes sense since they’re storing your cameras footage. It’s less of a worry than a thief taking an sd card out of similar. Even just have the camera there has already acted as a deterrent, those neighbors have walked by but haven’t done anything near my porch since. The only people that have been up there are people that should be like the mail and such. With this I feel way more secure!

These are wonderful. We personally have them at everyone of our doors. We have also purchased several for family members as gifts. We have both wired and wireless. They do a fantastic job and are very durable. The view on the camera is nice and clear.

Back to the Drawing Board, Amazon (UPDATED)
I’ve been using this Ring doorbell and camera system for a couple of years now – plenty of time to put the gear through its paces and form a conclusion. In short, this stuff is basically little more than toys. I’ll begin with some positive comments, however…The hardware of both the doorbell and the “R2D2” cameras is quite impressive. It’s solid, the fit and finish are excellent, and the materials used are excellent quality. The 1080 camera is sharp and clear – even in the dead of night, and the audio is as good as one could expect given that there isn’t anything capturing the sound except a tiny condenser mic. That said…The sensitivity sensor is highly erratic, regardless of what level it is set to. On a few occasions, the recorder won’t even trip should someone come up to the door, but thankfully, this is rare. Most of the problems are with the inconsistency of distance. For example, people walking along the sidewalk in front of my house are basically never detected (which is proper), but should a postal delivery vehicle or a garbage truck go by, then the system is triggered. Keep in mind that a sidewalk is normally closer to a house than a street, and my property is no exception. Even a stray headlight will trip the system, which is exasperating when it happens in the middle of the night. When the system *does* properly record, there are too many instances of the recording starting too late or quitting too early, which results in images of humans at our door getting chopped off.Inexplicably, the unit contains a battery that cannot be swapped out. This means that you have to take the doorbell offline for hours at a time so that the battery inside it can be recharged. I’ll admit, I didn’t read the fine print when I purchased so my bad, but c’mon, who would have thought that someone would have designed a security system that had to be taken offline by *design*?As bad as all the above is, the absolute showstopper is the horrific problem with wi-fi – a problem so consistent and acute that it renders this product useless. The doorbell and the cameras are constantly going offline, and the only way that they can be brought back online is for the user to be onsite and physically reconnect the devices. Talk about unclear on the concept! The whole idea of home security is that you want it working when you’re AWAY, Amazon, not just when you’re at home. The slightest network glitch causes the system to completely blow up: a slight power interruption, the router temporarily losing network, etc. However, every single device in my household is smart enough to come back online once the connection has been restored, except…the Ring system. Sometimes, eventually, the doorbell “figures something out” and comes back online, but the cameras? Never. They would be better off as paperweights. Some of this is not Amazon’s fault – it’s the nature of a motion detection system. The problem is that with the system metaphorically yelling “Fire!” all the time, you become naturally insensitive to its warnings, or if you simply turn it off so you aren’t disturbed, then this defeats the whole purpose, right?UPDATE 8-13-2023: AFter speaking with a courteous and knowledgable customer service representative named Melissa, I was satisfied with the information she provided in re to the operation of the doorbell. For the most part, she affirmed my observations about the proximity sensitivity issues I documented here as well as the necessity to deactivate and uninstall the device in order to charge it. Her suggestion was to hardwire the doorbell, but I explained that due to the trim around our door as well as other issues, hardwiring would be cost prohibitive. I stated that I am very pleased with the performance of the battery itself – it only needs charging 3-4 times per year, but that the real issue was that the battery requires 6-8 hours to charge no matter what type of charger that is used. I also stated that I was aware that fast-charging shortens the life of lithium batteries, but that this decision should be left up to customers, not the designers. For my part, I would rather be able to fast-charge the battery and get my doorbell operating again even if this means purchasing a replacement a little sooner than I might have had to.I’ve added two additional stars to this review: one for the unusually strong battery performance and one for Melissa’s patient assistance.

OMG A MUST BUY!
This is my first Ring camera. I’m very excited to say it works! It was really easy to mount to the wall. It has great audio & excellent clarity. Comes with instructions also down load the ring app. Don’t worry you don’t have to purchase a subscription. It’s up to you. You get a 30 day free subscription to save video. After that you can pay. It’s not mandatory to get the subscription. The camera still works great with out the subscription. I love this Ring camera easy install. Make sure you buy the theft box for $14.99 that goes over to protect it. This was a excellent purchase. The seller delivered it on time. Thank you Seller! Also you can watch people come to your door & talk to them. It also has neighbor hoods watch. Local neighbors let you know what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also purchase this camera with Affirm on 6 or 12 monthly payments.

Definitely a necessity
I decided to invest in one of these because I don’t have a peephole. I absolutely love it. I live in an apartment so I purchased a dock from Amazon to mount it on my door. I wasn’t quite sure from reading the description which capabilities it had, but you can talk back and forth to people which was all I cared about. The camera only records when the motion sensor is activated. I’ve had this for a while now, but I believe I had to purchase a subscription to be able to save videos, but it was very cheap. The only downside is the fact that you have to remove it to charge it, but I charge it when I’m home during the day. The battery lasts for 2-3 months.

These things just work!!
I have good number of cameras, doorbells, and alexa devices all configured and paired together. I bought this doorbell to upgrade my back door. Its definitely came a long way since the first gen. Not to keen on the built in battery but we’ll see how that works!!These have a lot of great options and features that really give you good control over your devices with a few major cons that really are hard to overlook and should cost a few stars.Pros. Great alerts, great video quality for just 1080p, range, and night vision. I can have it setup so if my front door gets motion alert, all the flood lights and cameras that can see that area light up and record. You can share with family members and determine what cameras they can see and which they cannot. I.E. we have a bedroom cam for our rottweiler puppy that has a large crate we can see right into during these early training months. I’d rather not having my teenage kids seeing into my bedroom but them getting motion alerts for the doors is awesome.Cons. Local storage is blocked behind a paywall. I literally bought a 512gb microsd card and found out when I couldn’t find where to enable that you have to not just pay more than what I was before with one camera, but you have to move up to their most expensive 20 dollar a month plan!!! What… The…heck Ring!??! I’m reading also that even after you do this, you can’t use both cloud AND local storage.. This is double dumb and downright either HORRENDOUS design by the developers or just intentional extortion via nickel and diming of their already paying customers.I’m a 25+ year IT professional. In EVERY camera system or data suite you care about, local and cloud storage together IS the bee’s knees. It should be available on cloud no matter what in case of fire/ring alarm theft and local storage used for faster replaying of recent events up to the amount of data your SD card can hold.Rather than giving in and paying, I returned the SD card and said screw it. I previously was paying about 3.99 a month for my single ring camera. I got tired of maintaining my local IP camera setup and needing a vm (virtual machine) running to record and eating up storage on my NAS to save it all. I was stoked when I saw the local storage. I dropped over 500 bucks on doorbell cams for back and side doors, flood light cams, and interior cameras to ensure our pets left home are fine and being checked on when we go on longer trips. I was OK moving up to 10 dollars a month for all that I get. Adding another 10 on top for something that costs RING NOTHING for me to use. is unacceptable. This is just a money-grabbing paywall and it needs to stop.Lastly, the biggest operational con besides this is the poor integration with Alexa for scheduling camera functions. I.E. I do like getting driveway alerts via the alexa when motion is detected because its a blind spot inside my house. One window on the back side of the house can see the driveway due to garage location. I set a schedule or snooze it to not give motion alerts if I’m having people over and it completely ignores this schedule and gives endless motion alerts via the alexa devices. Stupid annoying and it seems people have been complaining about this on the forum since 2018.

Better video quality, poor installation and mounting (Updated 6/6/2020)
I had the original Ring Doorbell for about a year and really enjoyed it. It was cheap but lower quality video resolution. It was fine for the time I had it. When the same thing with improved video was being released, I jumped on it. I received it today and got it installed. The video quality is night and day as shown in the photos and much better than the 1st generation. Good work ring. Unfortunately, the installation and mounting sucks compared to the 1st generation. Why they did this, I have no clue but here are the issues.1. The mounting plate on the first generation has connections for the wiring. This made it very easy to remove the device and charge, especially in the winter months where we live and the batteries lose charge. 2nd generation has a mounting plate and the wiring on the back of the unit, which was a pain especially when the existing wire is not very long. This will be a nightmare having to remove this and recharge compared to the 1st generation. I had no issues with the 1st generation. This is a failure for Ring in my opinion. I am debating about keeping my 1st generation instead of this now.2. The mounting of the device to the frame also sucks. The 1st literally had no gaps and was secure in my opinion. It had guides that made the doorbell align to the mount. The 2nd generation does not and there are gaps all the way around and loose. I mounted it no differently than before, in fact the holes for 1st and 2nd generation are identical which is a plus, but again I see this mounting as a failure for Ring.I literally just installed this, and outside of the perfect video, I can’t attest to motion and nightvision yet. I am disappointed in the execution of mounting the device. I have no idea why this changed this from the 1st generation but this was a bad move in my opinion. I still have no idea why these require a battery they never stay charged when connected to wiring, but I assume this unit will have the same issue for me as well come winter. They really need to rethink the whole battery idea and have a hardwired version and battery version or fix the way these thing function when power is applied. At this point I may deal with it and hope Ring fixes these mounting and wiring flaws. If this mounted the same way as the 1st generation, I would not be writing a review because I had no issues with the device other than the battery and that wasn’t enough for me to write a review. Excellent otherwise but seriously why did you change the way these mount?***Update 6/6/2020***So I decided to keep it primarily because I had already offered to sell my 1st generation to a neighbor, but I did end up having to make some changes. Ultimately I bought some spade terminals and soldered them to my doorbell wire with heat shrink tubing (Ring provided in older versions, but not this one for some reason). While it was easy for me, it won’t be for others. Overall I am still upset over this mounting as it is extremely poor execution when the previous version was perfect. I guess this is Rings way to get the price down to $99 by cutting corners. The doorbell it self seems quality but mounting just plain sucks. I have no other words for it. You can see my updated photos of what I did. There are two photos that show the camera quality difference. The low quality image is from a generation 1 ring and the better quality HD is from the generation 2 ring. Night vision appears to be decent and motion the jury is still out because of the People only filter. I am still trying to tweak it. I am still leaving only 3 stars because of the mounting issues and there is still a gap between the mounting plate and the doorbell. Maybe Ring will fix and send everyone a new mount, but that is wishful thinking.

Amazing front door camera
We got this camera as seniors in college who wanted a layer of protection on our front door and this camera was perfect for that. We get a notification anytime someone walks by or rings our bell and we can even answer it from our phone and talk through the app without having to physically answer the door. The battery life lasts for quite a few days which is so decent and all you need to do it charge it overnight to get many more days worth of use out of it. Highly recommend this budget friendly front door camera

Quality Home Security
Had a BLINK system. Always had problems. Poor video clarity, frequency of false alarms etc…. One of the main issue was battery life and availability of batteries. Only ones you can use are from BLINK, and are not rechargeable.Ring is far superior in every way. From quality of video to battery life (comes with a USB cable for charging battery). I threw the BLINK system in the trash where it belongs.

Love/Hate Relationship
I really want to love this thing! I purchased it for my family child care home for drop-offs and pick-ups. When it works, it’s awesome. I’ve been adjusting the motion sensing for about 2 weeks and am still struggling with it missing someone arriving or simply not sending me alerts. Another issue is it will work fine in the morning, and then in the afternoon after the first child leaves daycare, the blue light will start spinning – and it will spin for hours! It will not record or send alerts while this is happening. I figured out I can turn on the Live View and the blue light will stop spinning and the device returns to working properly. I haven’t been able to find anything online about this (other than the blue light should spin while the battery is charging and my device is not on the charger when this happens), and I have no desire to contact customer support, because I’ve read they’re awful from other consumers’ experiences. Also, I haven’t been impressed with the battery life, though I’ll admit I’ve been adjusting the motion settings every other day and I’m sure that has had an impact. I would return this product if I could, but I was not thinking about the possibility of disliking it when I threw the original box away.

Great door bell
I like this ring for apartments that don’t have door bells. You don’t have to make holes on the building. It will give you a sense of security. The down fall is it battery operated and you have to charge it about every 3 months.

I love this ring camera. I love that it films in total darkness. I needed to catch the maintenance people coming into my apartment when I am not home as they like to use my bathroom because apartment always clean. Look if your not paying rent dont enter. Great for elderly
I bought this for my mom who is in her sixties. I’m worried about her being alone and being safe. So with the ring if someone comes to her house she can see if she knows them or if she shouldn’t open the door. It’s great and I can also see who comes to her home.

Great But
Great camera with clear optics. If you use the battery operated camera buy one extra to use while the other charges. If you wire to your old door bell wires this will supply your battery with a trickle charge, lasting so much longer. Will pretty much show 100% if hardwired always.

Excellent quality but requires a paid subscription to optimize use!
One has to pay to subscribe to keep activity to review. The device must be removed for recharging about once a month. and is anchored by two tiny screws which require special screw driver, included which are easy to lose. It is otherwise of high quality.

To my surprise, each charge can last at least 4 months or more by my estimate. So the solar charger or wired may not be necessary for many users.

It’s a game changer. It’s made apartment life so much better.
What I like about having a ring camera is that it has made my apartment life more bearable. One thing about it that is so cool is that when I order something from Amazon and it arrives I get a notification. It’s nice knowing your package isn’t outside for too long before you notice it. My loud obnoxious neighbors are behaving so much better now . Less door slamming and & no more screaming at midnight. I’m so happy I got this. I charged it from 39% to 96 % in a little over 3 hours which isn’t bad at all.😌 It’s also very user friendly.

Can’t give enough stars
I am so grateful this technology exists and at a reasonable price. Having been recently bed bound due to surgery the Ring allowed me to see and talk to anyone who came to my door. It gives me a sense if security to have this control over who I want to respond to and who I can ignore, (those pesty solicitor, etc). I tell all my senior friends they should get one as soon as possible. Only thing I would change is I would look into getting one that is solar power so I don’t have to charge every 4 months or so.

Amazing!
I bought this as it was a great deal and had initially intended this to be used for my upper, but I tried it on my front door and this is much much nicer. The battery lasts a long time, and the video quality is perfect! My older gen ring doorbell I am using for the back door and 2 weeks ago, the battery died, while the front door is still going strong. And motion detection is triggered MUCH less at my back door than the front door.I will get another one to use for my back door as well.

Just What I Was Looking For
I recently moved from a house to an apartment. We are not allowed to drill holes in the door. This Ring holder works perfectly to hold the Ring doorbell without damaging the door. They thought of everything from adding two extra screws to giving you foam rubber piece to put in with the doorbell so it doesn’t move. I liked it so much that I order one for my daughter who also lives in an apartment.

Excellent Product
It does exactly as it describes, I needed a little extra security at my home and this was the answer, the picture is high definition and the coverage is excellent. It takes care of all of our needs for front and back door security. I know when a package has been delivered or when that nosy neighbor comes by for a two hour chat. If your looking for a great product for an economical price, this is the one.

Ring for hardwired to existing doorbell
Replaced my previous hardwired Ring camera that was 8 years old and survived many blizzards and thunderstorms. The new one requires you to use a new faceplate but it lines up with the previous drill holes!! Wired it to my existing doorbell wires, it reached 100% charge in a few days. The camera is great. It does ring my existing doorbell inside my home too. Color night vision is a new feature and works well. During set up I could not link it with the app, I hit support and actually spoke to a live person who walked me through the fix in minutes. Great product and service!

Easy set up
Everything came as advertised, eas of setup etc. Except the security screws were the wrong ones…you would think with as many warnings as there were about not using the wrong screws to secure lock the device that they would make sure they included the correct ones. I found some in my bin that were just long enough to not puncture the battery.the screws that came labeled security screws seemed the correct length but had a metal collar around the threads keeping them from even reaching the internal matching threads.

Good Video Quality
It has decent video quality I would say wait for a sale as this is the older model of the ring doorbell. I also purchased the chime with it in order to have a second doorbell sound for the other side of the house. This was a battery-operated doorbell but it can be hardwired as well.

I wish I purchased this sooner.
For me, the best feature of the Ring Video Doorbell is getting alerts about packages arriving. My household receives medication by mail that isn’t shipped via the US Post Office, so they can’t leave it in the mailbox. Instead, they leave the medicine by the front door. Now, I instantly know when my medication (and all my Amazon packages 😉) has been dropped off. We also have Alexa enabled devices around the house that we get notified on if someone is at the door, which is so cool! We can use our Echo Show 5 to view the live camera feed at any time, and talk to anyone at our door, with crystal clear video and audio with very little latency.Installation was very simple and took less than 5 minutes. Make sure you keep the included tool! If you don’t, you will have to buy another one when it comes time to charge your Ring.I highly recommend this product! If your house is already in the “Alexa ecosystem,” the Ring Video Doorbell is a must have to expand the capabilities of your smart home!

For the safety of our in the back apartment complex. Too many attempted car thieves.
I liked that it was small enough to go into hiding. It’s too big for a patio apartment. Rules here are that we are not allowed to monitor anything but our porch. We get Shoot Outs here and drug dealers and pitch thieves. I was hoping to Not be a Hero, but an “ Oh aloud, that is great!”

Camera upgraded
Got this as a replacement from my old camera from a different company and theres immediately a huge difference. The camera quality is much sharper and I can even see the lines and dirt on the floor and walls now. If a bug was to crawl along the floor I’d definitely be able to see it clearly. I was worried about the round “fisheye” type lens since I’m just not a huge fan of it, but this camera actually sees a good deal further down the hall than my old one so I reckon I can deal with the lens shape. I live in a very humid and hot area and the old camera would fog up very easily but this one has yet to fog up and its the middle of June so if it would fog up, now would be the time. The audio quality is good and I can individually adjust the doorbell volume and the speaker volume. When in live view, my old camera would make me tap the screen repeatedly to make sure the live view continued and it would still just automatically shut it off and not let me re-open the live view, this camera doesn’t do that, you turn it on and it stays on until you exit out so less work for me. Being in an apartment I am not allowed to screw or install it in any wall, so I have it in a door mount and it fit in my current mount I used for my old camera so it was an easy installation for me. It hasn’t had any difficulties or disconnects with the wifi yet. I do wish the motion detection was a bit quicker as it catches motion more in the very middle of the camera rather than when it comes into the frame, but I also don’t have the sensitivity all the way up to save battery life so it could just be that. Either way it still catches motion better than my old camera so I wont be a choosy beggar.

Love ring doorbell
I like that that you can see it on your phone. Camera quality is really good. It’s notifies you when someone is near your door or around. I love that you’re able to mount it into any position. It’s also very easy to use.

I like the ring. It’s clear to see through. Installation was easy. Setting it up didn’t take long. Purchased another one for the back door. Thanks

Best camera ever!!
Even though this don’t have a microphone for me to talk to the people whoever is at my door, it’s still useful to see anyone that appears in front of my door so I can know who is actually there. A lot of strangers been lurking on my property so I’ve seen them with this camera. This camera makes me feel safe due to the notifications and it’s so clear to see everyone and everything. I don’t know why I can’t hear anyone talking or anything but I can see them clearly in the camera as they are moving. Setting it up was hard but I hired an electrician to do it for me so it was no big deal. The downside to this is you have to charge it everytime it goes low so you kind of have to take it out and reinstall it and if you are not that good in electric and wires, then I don’t know how I or anyone will charge it without moving it completely and having to reinstall it afterwards.

I could have given a 5 stars
I owned the first generation Ring Doorbell since the begging of the time. It lasts for a long time. I saw the 2nd gen doorbell on sale on Amazon with a better resolution, so I ordered it and installed at the same day as it arrived. The installation is really easy comparing the first generation one. Also, I re-use the holes for my old one, so there was no drilling to the wall. The one less star is for missing leveler that should have been included in the kit.

Ring: It works great
Yes it was easy to install but it was shy the two security screws that attach to the bottom of the Ring. I had to order some replacement screws so far at my cost. They also recommend that you subscribe to their plan? Why would I want to store videos for six months?

Great Doorbell Camera
It’s a great doorbell product. Main reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of their monthly plan that they require to even playback recordings. Slimy and cheap tactics but great product.

Amazing customer service for customers with limited tech skills
So I bought the Ring one and was not amused when it didn’t set up easily and left a negative review. Amelia from the company (from the USA I think) reached out to me and is helping me work through the problem. When it’s a foreign person answering the phone that means you’re about to be screwed by companies like Apple and Home Depot that only care about money and not being honorable. The makers of Ring One are an honorable company and will stand behind their product. Enough said about that. So my issue is the product needs a wi-fi signal to work and doesn’t like thick walls or metal screen doors to work but Ring has a solution for that. The solution is on its way…to be continued.

Hard to install security screws
Looks to me like a good and affordable produce with good service response. But, they didn’t do a good job of adding security screws. I sent one back and received a replacement in a day or so. But, still not sure the security screws are working. Something simpler would be good.

best purchase
we got this for our apartment as our last place people tried to break in even when I was home. having this made us feel more save in our new place and we love to leave each other messages when we leave for work or shopping. I would say though if this is your fist time getting one. in order to keep the videos you are needing to subscribe to the ring and for a yearly payment its like $50 or $60 which isn’t that bad I guess
