It’s been 3 months so far, and it’s been a great little freezer. We bought it to handle overflow from the big fridge when we buy in bulk, run into good sales, etc…..Delivery was great. I was really scared that they’d just drop it off the back, etc…., but they brought it covered, on a hand dolly, all belted in. No damage to the box, and more importantly, no damage to the fridge. The color is a standard black and streamlined in design. It simply looks like a midsized box or a modern cabinet a bit. The size is perfect, big enough to handle a multiple ice cream cartons, a few big flats of chicken, beef, ribs, etc… Also a couple of bags/boxes of fries, frozen vegetables, etc…I’m 6′ tall, and it’s about waist high, I put it on a little platform so it would be easier to reach the bottom basket/shelf. Noise isn’t bad, just a little hum sometimes, not enough to be distracting. Cooling is ok, my fridge’s freezer seems to get a little colder, but I haven’t noticed anything bad like melting ice cream, etc…. It’s freezing things well.It has a little turn lock at the bottom, it works, but I never use it. It’s in an annoying spot, and I just don’t have a need. It’s not a standard key, but a hex type. You could probably use a standard hex key to get in if you ever lost the real one. Will update if anything bad happens.:).

Perfect size for small spaces, temp control is great

Cools our downstairs area fairly well, even though the square footage is slightly more than this unit’s rating. I was able to put off replacing our ancient central air system for one more year. Served it’s purpose quite well.

Purchased for all the extras that I couldn’t fit in my kitchen freezer. Runs quiet, cost efficient on my electric bill, works great! I can fit quite a bit of food in this freezer.

This freezer is better than my regular top of refrigerator freezer at keeping things frozen hard. Especially good for things like ice cream. It’s not self-defrosting, though. I’ve had it for about a year and only defrosted it once. It wasn’t that bad. Once unplugged, the ice quickly melted and I had it back up and running a few hours later.

Looking for a small freezer to compliment our refrigerator freezer and this works very well. Must admit skeptical at first, but it works great. Only drawback is that it’s so light, have to hold it in place when opening the door. Also note that this does require manual defrosting.

I was very disappointed when the freezer arrived and I discovered its door was crushed with insulation hanging out, and the sides were severely crushed. It was apparent the unit had already been returned by another customer because their return slip was still inside the box. I don’t know when the damage occurred. But I submitted a return with Amazon and they immediately shipped another unit out without waiting to receive the damaged unit. Good for them! I had to schedule a pickup of the old unit with UPS, but it was free, as expected. We’ve had the freezer for a month and no frost has formed on the interior yet. We don’t open very often – maybe twice a day. I haven’t used a thermometer to check the temp, but the items in it are frozen.A few things to be aware of:1) The temperature control is on the back of the freezer inside the open compartment at the bottom. I had to use a mirror to see which setting I was putting it on. (The freezer is light enough to scoot away from it’s position but I didn’t want to possibly mess up the fine leveling job I had just done on it.)2) The freezer has to have clearance around the back and sides, so it can’t be used in a cabinet or flush in a corner.3) I bought this freezer because in several answered questions about operating temperature, the seller said it could operate between 55 and 110 degrees. (“…the Midea WHS-109FW1 Upright Freezer. This unit can be used in a heated garage. It can function in temperatures between a range of approximately 110°F to 55°F.”) I was disappointed to see in the manual that the maximum temperature is only 90 degrees.
