It works
Plugging in was easy, setting up was very long. Instructions were minimal on the downloading of apps and finding your way around. Took me 3 hours to figure out. Now that it is set up I still don’t know how to clear out the watched shows from my list. It’s gonna take a while but this is definitely better than the expensive waste of a big bulky dish tv in your yard. Yes, it works, just need a little more on the instructional side. Thanks.

Happy I got this
I bought it first because my smart tv apps do not work well. I decided to try this in hopes it would work better. It does. I bypass tv apps. With fire stick. Apps work immediately. And shows don’t freeze. I don’t know how this works. I only thought to try it. I enjoy asking remote to locate movies or shows for me. I have not used the 2nd one yet.

Works!
I got so sick of my Samsung TV starting up the outdoors channel every time I turned it on. Wrong audience! It was very annoying and I couldn’t get any settings to save so it would stop doing that. This has fixed my problems! I love that it has Disney plus and Netflix buttons so we can start right where we want. I definitely recommend this! It was worth not being angry at my TV every time we turned it on!

Saved me the cost of a new tv!
My samsung randomly stopped letting me stream Amazon prime awhile back. Then I got a notification that it no longer supports Netflix. Here I am thinking I needed to buy a new tv, (mine is not old). BUT then I came across the firestick!!! Game changer!! I now have all 5 of my streaming services on my tv and it’s even working faster. I think even the picture quality has improved! Very happy with this purchase. Looking forward to adding more Amazon devices to my home.

Works well!
I have a ten-year-old TV that used to belong to my father-in-law. Plugged in this Fire Stick and it immediately worked. First of course it updated the firmware, then the rest of the setup was very simple. It now works very well. I am using YouTubeTV on it.

Great price
Perfect when you still have 10 year old televisions that are not “smart” tvs. All of the apps are on there and it’s very easy to use. The price is right and we haven’t had a problem with it in over a year since we’ve gotten it.

Great for streaming
I have had Firesticks for several years now and they are a very good option for streaming. The first few sticks I had didn’t last as long as the newer versions but that is likely due to advances in technology. It comes with all the things you need to get it up and running immediately, even batteries for the remote. The OS is user friendly and works very well. It makes sense how its laid out is easy to navigate. Something else I like about it is that it is an android based OS so there are developer options which allow you more opportunity for customizing your experience. In the past the most common issues Ive had with it are the OS slowing down. There is 5gb of internal storage on it and it can get bogged down if you have a lot going on. Over time I notice there is a delay in the responsiveness to remote commands. Resetting the device does improve the lagging for a short period of time but it isn’t a permanent fix and it never goes back to how it ran when it was brand new…just a little less lag.In my experience these devices will last several years before needing to be replaced. In my opinion, that is a great bang for your buck. Something else great about them is that you can find them on sale all throughout the year on amazon. There are also numerous areas for support on the amazon site as well as live customer service to help if you need it. I have used other streaming devices before but keep coming back to these. One side note….we have phillps hue ecosystem for our lights and use the hue sync box to control the lights to match the colors on the screen. We bought the 4k stick and it wasn’t compatible with the hue sync box. Our sync box is several years old so perhaps the newer ones have a patch that fixes the issue but we weren’t able to use the 4k stick with our hue sync box. The HD stick works just fine with our setup. I will say that there was a noticeable picture and audio quality difference with the 4k stick, but not being able to work with our lights was a deal breaker for me.Overall I would recommend this device for anyone. It’s affordable and works great for all of our needs.

Esasy to use and navigate
The main Reason I bought this Fire Stick was to be able to manage my Amazon Photo app and albums through my TV, what a great little investment for this need, on top of that I have all the extra benefits that Fire Stick provide, is very very fast streaming lots of free stuff to watch, great quality streaming quality and also a great extra to have to Roku, I have one Roku sick in one TV and an Amazon Fire Stick on other and this expanded my choices by far.

Worth the money!
I always thought smart TV sticks were a pain to set up and use but this is super easy. I have a pretty old TV (~2010) and all I had to do was plug it in and it worked effortlessly. Worth the money, ditch cable.

Exceeded all my expectations
I replaced an older generation FireTV device which had a remote without a volume control. I was hoping that that I could control the volume to my older Sharp Aquos TV, connected to an older Vizio Soundstand. My expectations were tempered because although the TV has and HDMI ARC port, the Vizio Soundstand (soundbar) did not. So I have been using a TOSLink optical cable from the TV to the Soundstand. This has required me to have to use not two but three remote controls: One for the FireTV, one for the TV itself, and one for the Vizio. I had my TV settings applied for being able to variably control the volume to an external soundbar, but it just does not work with an optical cable–which I was reluctant to part with. The option would have been RCA cables, but still I would have had to use the TV Remote for volume. What I discovered about this 3rd Generation Fire Stick1) It seems to be much snappier in terms of navigating the menus.2) The volume control works to control the TV volume, when I switched the soundbar from an optical to RCA analog connection. Adjusting the volume on the FireTV remote displayed the volume level right on the TV.3) The power button on the FireTV remote powers off and on the TV.4) After this, I discovered that I could add the soundbar to the FireTV by going to Settings>Equipment Control>Add Equipment>Soundbar. In this menu you can choose your soundbar manufacturer, and Vizio thankfully was in the list of choices.5) What I learned by doing step 4 was that now the FireTV stick volume control was controlling the volume directly to the soundbar, not through the TV. This made me realize that the RCA cables were likely no longer necessary, so I pulled them and reinstalled the optical cable. All of the above now means that I can now power on and off the TV, FireTV, and soundbar with just one press of the power button on the FireTV remote, and use the one single remote to also adjust the volume. A home run. especially given Prime Day pricing.

We have switched from Roku to FireTV for all of our devices
While the device works great for streaming, it still has room for improvement. We first started with Roku devices. Over time though, Roku devices basically stop working. They stop being supported, and even though they may have worked fine for years, you can no longer update them or install software, even old versions, so you have to throw them away. So, we tried firetv sticks. The first generation was rough, but they have come along way. For media streaming and app coverage, they really can’t be beat….. but….We love that they are tied into Amazon, but also hate that they are tied into Amazon. It never lets you forget that its primary job is to let Amazon sell stuff to you and its secondary job is to be your streaming device. What do I mean by this? Well, it really likes to put you back on Amazon’s homescreen as much as possible, and when you are in Amazon’s homescreen, you are presented with the content you have paid for, but also a lot of content Amazon would like to sell to you. I really only want to see the content I have already paid for. For example, if you are watching something on MAX, or Netflix, and you pause the program, if you unpause it quick enough, it will just pick up where you left off. However, if you wait to long, you will find yourself back at Amazon’s homescreen asking you to tell it which user profile to use. Well, unless I tell it otherwise, shouldn’t I be the same person I was when I hit pause? Shouldn’t I want to continue watch what I was watching when I hit pause? Once you select a profile, you are back to Amazon’s homescreen where the show you ads for services they want to sell you, when all you really wanted to do was resume what you were watching when you hit pause. So then, you have to remember… what was I watching again? And what service was it I was watching it on? And then you have to navigate back to wherever it was you were and then and only then can you resume. So other than that, the device is great. I wish there was a way I could just pay a fee like you can on the kindle, to alter this behavior so its primary function is to be my streaming device, instead of to show me ads. This also becomes a problem if you have guests or visitors that don’t understand this is how an Amazon device works. We didn’t have a password set on the device and we had an older house guest that unknowingly subscribed to all sorts of streaming services and pay per view not realizing what they saw on the TV was not in our services, even though we already subscribe to more services than you could ever possibly watch.Lastly, the stick periodically has little flukes. Like we have the remote set to turn on the tv. One time, it wouldn’t turn on the tv anymore. It turned out, it seemed to be turning it on, but then turning it right back off. Like when you hit the button once, it was sending the on off signal more than once. Unplugging the stick and plugging it back in seemed to fix it and then we could turn the tv on again. It happened in the opposite direction too. One time, we couldn’t turn the tv off. We would press the button and it would turn off and then it would turn right back on again. Same as before, a reboot seemed to fix it. This doesn’t happen often, but it is annoying when it does.As for Alexa integration, it usually works well, but sometimes, it just stops working. All of a sudden telling Alex to pause just doesn’t work anymore. It just doesn’t do anything. Doesn’t tell you there is a problem or anything, so you have to go find the remote, even though you have paused it that way 100 times before. The wanting to take you through the advertising screens is a problem with the Alexa integration as well. You can’t say “Alexa watch some movie on some service” and get taken to that movie. No, no, it is first going to want to know who you are, so you get to the profile selection screen. I should be the same person I was last time, unless I have logged out for some reason. Selecting a profile still doesn’t get you to where you asked to go, it gets you to the Amazon advertising center. So then, you have to repeat yourself “Alexa watch some movie on some service”, and then, and only then, will it do what you asked it to do in the first place. So the device, is great. But it is my device, and should focus on my needs more than Amazon’s, but it doesn’t. That is its only flaw.

HOORAY! FINALLY GETTING RID OF CABLE- LOVE LOVE LOVE
I have been avoiding buying one of these even though I am so sick of the price of cable. I am not great with anything tech and get very annoyed setting up anything related to electronics. So I kept putting it off. When I saw the price of this firestick I thought why not just try it! It was so easy to set up and it made my “stupid” tv into a SMART TV! The set up on the tv and in the instructions are so easy! It works so well! I am thrilled! Will be buying another for another TV in my home and then taking a trip to cable co to tell them goodbye for good! THIS SAVES ME SO MUCH MONEY ON MY BILLS! GREAT PURCHASE!

Easy to install.
I bought the fire stick because the tv I’m using is older and I can not get newer streaming apps. Now I can get them all and it works great. The only thing I am having trouble with is the sound. I have to turn it up really high to hear so I think that I need to figure out the settings for the sound. Over all I am very pleased.

Love them
I left apply tv for these. Had them for years now. Only bad thing is the remote breaks and it causes us to buy a whole new unit, because finding just a remote hasn’t been very easy. I also have kids that are very rough on the remotes, but still they could be built a little better, however I assume that would increase the price. The price is the best part about these things.

Something changed w recent update……or so they say
I finally broke down & bought a firestick after having used my PS4 for years to stream after canceling cable 14 yrs ago. There are some apps I can’t get on PS4, so I thought it would be nice to have all my streaming apps in one place. Set up was super easy! I wasn’t sure if the charging BLOCK was included, it does not make it clear & sounds like it doesn’t & I bought one so I could use it right away. I was surprised to see that it DOES, in fact, come WITH the charging block so the one I bought was a waste of money. I plugged it into my TV, then into my outlet, turned it on and got ready to set it up. That was very easy! I was surprised to see how easy it was to set up. I connected my TV to the remote to make it easier having everything in one remote. And that’s when things went down hill. I’m partially deaf, so having a TV that has a high volume is something I look for, my TV is pretty loud at 15, being almost too loud at 18-20 for “normal” hearing people. Once I connected my TV to the firestick, I noticed IMMEDIATELY that the volume on my TV was not workingproperly. I literally had to turn the volume up to 85 just to hear it and going up to 100 didn’t make a difference. This drove me absolutely insane, I do not understand why Firestick would govern my TV volume. I played around with the settings and in the end, ended up disconnecting my TV from the firestick remote & changed one other setting having to do with sound & that seemed to fix it. However, right after that, I was told by Amazon help line that there was an update right around the time I called with the issues I’m now having. I’ll often leave a video playing and listen from another room (I’m not good at sitting & watching a video, I more listen) and don’t always get back to the living room to put a new video on right away. Before the update, it’d go to a screen saver after about 10 min and stay there. When I come back into the room, I just pick up where I left off. NOW, instead of going to the screen saver & staying there…..it TURNS OFF completely, which then my TV will turn off after 5 min of no activity. It’s so flipping annoying.. I have to come back in & turn everything back on, go back to the app I was watching, then look for the series or whatever I was watching when it turned off. It does this EVERY TIME there is a 15 MINUTE lull between videos! And what’s even worse…….at the end of the night when I WANT TO turn the dang thing off….it WILL NOT POWER OFF!!!!! Not sure why they put an off button then?! I guess Amazon has decided they will govern my power now and turn it off when I leave a room and a video stops for 15 min….but they wont allow turning the thing off when I WANT to turn it off. It makes no sense. I have to just turn my tv off and guess it powers off after 15 minutes. It’s the most annoying thing, after the volume nonsense, I’ve ever dealt with on any device. I did call the help line, they went in and played around and fixed nothing, telling me basically it was the latest update and that’s how it is, but they’ll be sure to let the tech dept know I’m not happy about them setting my Firestick to TURN OFF every time there’s no activity for 15 minutes (instead of, ya know, a screen saver), but then I can’t turn the Firestick off when I want to at the end of the night or when leaving the house…Sure, Ma’am, Like the tech dept cares i think their new update is awful, lol! If it wasn’t for the thing governing my volume, turning off every time there’s 15 minutes of inactivity, and not powering off when I hit the OFF button, I’d really like it. It’s easy to use, there’s pretty much EVERY streaming app I use available to download….even the ones that need a library card to watch, which surprised me! Although, I do wish they’d add more video uploading apps like Odyssey or Rumble because the Internet browser on the Firestick is NOT easy to use (like the PS4 is), but it does work to watch those platforms once you get to them through the Internet browser. It’d just be far easier to include an app to each. And hopefully they’ll fix the issues with the above mentioned problems I’ve had. Would I recommend it? I would recommend it to anyone that doesn’t have cable TV and subscribes to different streaming apps like I do because it does have them available for download. The apps are also easy enough to sign into, which I prefer over casting. If you need a lot of volume though, I’d recommend not connecting the TV to the firestick remote and definitely check the sound settings to get the most volume out of your TV. And expect to have to turn it back on a lot if you’re not always in the room to jump onto the next video!

Should Have Bought This Years Ago
This is so easy to setup and use, I wish I got this years ago. I’ll be honest, and I feel a bit foolish admitting this, but: Despite hearing about the Fire TV stick’s existence for years, I never considered it because I thought there was a monthly fee! I didn’t want to pay for anything beyond my subscriptions, so I never even read the details. I put my television in a box in the attic when I ‘cut the cord’ with my cable company in 2012 and it’s been there ever since. I’ve been watching ‘TV’ on my desktop PC or on my Kindle. This worked well enough for years, but during the pandemic I began spending a lot more time streaming shows and despite replacing my desk chair with a more comfortable chair, it just wasn’t ergonomic and became more and more uncomfortable, so I needed to reconsider my TV setup. Enter the Fire Stick! This time I read the details – and then re-read them, and then Youtubed videos about it, because I couldn’t believe it really didn’t cost anything per month! You just buy the stick and plug it in and that’s it?! Yep!So here’s a few noteworthy points: First, it does not use USB; I saw this pop up in the questions for this product quite a bit. Technically the wall adapter plugs into the included USB cord – just like your kindle charger, etc. But there’s no USB needed for the actual television end, it uses an HDMI port and that’s it. Interestingly, I almost didn’t get it because I was sure the TV I bought back in 2009 wouldn’t have an HDMI port, but I finally went up to the attic to check and sure enough, it has one! So be sure your TV has an HDMI port, that’s required.Setup was ridiculously easy. Just attach the items in the box together and plug it into the HDMI port on the back of your TV and then plug the other end into a wall outlet. That’s it! Then turn the TV on and the setup will walk you through the rest, signing you into your Amazon account, calibrating the included remote control, updating (several times), choosing streaming apps to start with, etc. It’s all very simple. If you want to watch paid streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc you must have a paid subscription to them. But there’s other services/apps such as Pluto TV and others that are totally free and have a decent variety of ad-supported content, both shows and movies as well as news. And Amazon’s apps are of course there, like Amazon Music and Prime Video (if you subscribe to Prime Video). I only have Hulu and Prime Video currently as paid subscriptions, but there’s plenty of free content to supplement. In fact, I even have my local news which surprised me (they must stream on a live app and I never realized it).So basically, it aggregates various paid and free streaming apps to one place and this little stick presents them all in one nice looking interface, letting you use your remote to choose programming, just like TV. To be clear, the Fire TV stick runs off your wifi signal, so be sure you have wifi at home. On one hand it doesn’t give you anything you can’t get without it, but on the other hand, the convenience of having it all accessible in one place is fantastic and makes it feel like I’m getting all kinds of new content. Some of the apps I’ve never even heard of, so there is new-to-me content in that regard. The interface is excellent and fairly intuitive, and the remote works great. I am super glad I opted for the Fire TV stick option that comes with the remote that also has TV controls like volume and mute, so I can do it all with the remote that came with it. Now I can sit in my living room like a normal person and watch TV (streaming services) comfortably from my couch; I should have got this years ago.Just be sure you have:1. A TV with an HDMI port2. Wifi at home3. OPTIONAL: Paid services if you want to watch Hulu, Netflix, etc. Otherwise you can still use this to access free content.

Great product
Best purchase I’ve made in 5 years!!I have one of the first smart tvs close to ten years old. It was limited but there were a few apps I used that I just put up with to try to stretch a few more years out of this Sony Bravia TV. One day the apps just disappeared and Sony told me my TV is just outdated and I’ll need an updated TV. The other option they gave me was to get a fire stick and that should give me apps to use and get a few more years out of the TV.Well…… I purchased this Amazon fire stick and suddenly the TV woke up. It updated all the software and downloaded everything it needed and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I thought my TV was incapable of being quality updated software and loads of apps and free TV watching. Thank you Amazon for making this great product. I will buy it again if I need another🤓

They’re always good to have around. Cheap and easy. It’s Amazon. What do you expect? It’s a fire stick! Use it, don’t use it, use it. it’s a fire stick. What else do you want? You plug it into your TV you get a guide you watch TV you turn it on you turn it off. It’s an Amazon fire stick. Enjoy!

I love this Amazon fire stick
It is incredibly easy to setup and many apps with free shows to choose from. One main advantage for me is that you can download and use the dish Anywhere app.Being able to use that app is going to be so nice whe we’re at a n rv park that has too many trees to find a place for mt portable satellite dome to get the dish satellites. This way I can still watch my dish channels using the internet and dish anywhere no matter how deep in the trees I am.Live it and the voice remote makes it so easy to use. It’s also nice that the remote works on RC and there works through cabinets and a direct line of sight is not required.Perfect for our bedroom tv in the bedroom when the fire stick is actually in a cabinet by the front tv.Absolutely perfect for us.We love the Amazon fire stick.

TRIED AND TRUE – THE GO TO … STAY AWAY FROM THE ROKU
TRIED AND TRUE – THE GO TO … STAY AWAY FROM THE ROKUTHOUGH I MIGHT SWITCH FORM FIRE STICK TO THIS – MISTAKE. OUR FIRE STICK IS OLD AN DINSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW ONE I THOUGH I’LL TRY THE ROKU SINCE ITS THE “MOST POPULAR WIDELY USED”. INSTALLED AND WITHIN 20 MIN PUT IT BACK IN THE BOX AND SENT IT BACK – SO UNIMPRESSED. 1. IT IS PREPROGRAMMED FOR 4 STREAMING SERVICES WITH HOT BUTTONS BUT YOU CANNOT CHANGE THEM TO ANYTHING ELSE IF YOU DON;T USE THAT SERVICE, THE VOICE FUNCTION CAN **NOT** CONTROL TV FUNCTIONS SUCH CHANGING HDMI INPUT LIKE YOU CAN WITH THE FIRE STICK HONESTLY THIS WAS THE DEAL BREAKER FOR ME BECAUSE IT MEANT I HAD TO KEEP OUT AND USE MY LG REMOTE SOLELY TO CHANGE INPUTS. REDICULOUS LASTLY – THE INTERFACE SUCKED – I MEAN I AM NOT A FAN OF AMAZONS PUSHING PRODUCTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS AND ALL THE WEIRD FUNCTIONALITY STUFF BUT ROKU WAS A 100% WORSE AND YOU COULDN’T CUSTOMIZE ANYTHING. REALLY CHOCKED AT HOW AWEFUL IT WAS. EMPHATICALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ROKU DO SOLIDLY RECOMMEND FIRE STICK EVEN WITH ITS WEIRD NUANCES

New Fire TV Stick Works Better
I had purchased a Fire Stick in Sept 2019 and moved report to another TV to test connection. I then installed back into old TV and struggled to peer the TV to Fire Stick. Possible issue with my brand name older smart TV.After spending hours trying to pear the remote that worked previously, I purchased a new Fire Stick. After I followed install instructions my TV identified the new fire stick hardware immediately. I was able to get to the Fire Stick menu options and complete the setup successfully. Still had minor issues with remote peering, but finally made it worked.I also noticed the new Fire Stick has new helpful features and navigation.Feedback1. Remote size and buttons need to be larger for older customers. We have a lot of baby boomers retiring.2. Needs improvement on remote peering.

EASY SET UP, LOTS OF APPS
The Amazon Fire Stick is incredibly easy to set up and use. Simply plug it into your TV’s HDMI port, connect it to your Wi-Fi network, and you’re ready to start streaming in minutes. The remote is intuitive and responsive, making navigation a breeze. One of the standout features of the Amazon Fire Stick is its vast library of apps and channels. From popular streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video to live TV options like Sling TV and YouTube TV, there is something for everyone on the platform. You also have the ability to download additional apps from the Amazon App Store, the possibilities are endless. I love my Fire Stick. Even though I have a smart TV, I prefer to use this. I can also control the power and volume of my TV using the Fire Stick Remote!

I love it
I bought it in the Black Friday sale period, so it was half its usual price. The product arrived in perfect conditions, though the boxing was a little weak (the item in its wrap was packed in a thin bag). As for its use, it has most apps that we use nowadays, and the remote responds to voice commands (it can recognize any language, but if you set a predetermined language, say, English, it gets a little confused or misspells words if you talk to it in Spanish, and vice versa). The only app it doesn’t have access to, as far as I’ve discovered, is HBO Max (or simply “Max”). You have to pay monthly to have it in the Firestick.

The Stick That Made Me a Hermit
I bought the Amazon Fire Stick to save myself from endless channel surfing and, boy, did it deliver. Within hours, I found myself buried under a mountain of streaming options, binge-watching shows I didn’t even know existed. My social life has now been replaced by a fierce competition between Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video. My dog thinks I’ve abandoned him, and my couch has permanently moulded to my shape. Thanks to the Fire Stick, I now have more TV shows in my queue than friends on Facebook. If you’re looking for a way to turn your living room into a comfy prison where you’re held captive by the allure of “just one more episode,” then this is the gadget for you. 10/10, would neglect responsibilities again.

Still the streaming unit of choice for me
I had two old Amazon Fire TV Stick die on my in a span of 2 weeks. Both models were from around 2018, so I figured they must be obsolete by now and have not had their software updated. Because these are so cheap, I bought two replacements. There are still occasional lag when you first turn it on, which can be frustrating. It can take about a whole minute before it completely wakes up and works smoothly. I am not sure why it is no longer shipped with a flatter power docket/cube as most people need to plug the receiver on the back of their TVs that are mounted flat against the wall. I had to purchase a separate, flat power adapter/cube to plug into the wall behind the TV.

Tremendous
I dumped my cable bill with this one time purchase technology. My bill is half what cable was costing me and have MUCH MORE to watch with shorter commercials. LOVE IT! Set up can be a little confusing but online videos got me through it and I am a tech dummy.

Lots to love, and a couple of caveats
Love: easy to setup and install, great value for money, excellent picture quality, consistent connection, easy to travel with for use on other devices, and best of all, we can use it n our Honda Odyssey!Meh: As a Prime member, you receive a good bit of tv channels. However, the ones we subscribe to Fubo in order to watch are NOT on FireTVDon’t Love: If you use the voice search or search feature, you’re automatically directed to Prime first. For us, we own titles via AppleTV that we have mistakenly paid for again on Prime. Likewise, the kids have purchased certain episodes of their favorite shows on Prime, when we already have a Netflix subscription for those shows (voice search defaults to Prime).Overall, we enjoy using FireTV. We do miss using our Gen 4 Apple TV as navigation was more natural to us after having an Apple for so long, but the FireTV packs FAR more bang for the buck!!!

Great remote
I have five of these and love them because they are easy to install, easy to use, and allow you to access any streaming service. I particularly like the voice command option, which I use regularly. Anyone looking for a remote to control streaming services, such as YouTube TV, prime TV, or any of the other numerous streaming services will find the Firestick to be perfect.

this is a bliss to install, once installed it will look for updates and you are set, login to your streaming apps and done!!!my advise to make sure it works correctly isuse the power adapter, your TV may not supply enough power (amps) for it work properly.

Gave up cable saved over $200
Told my cable company goodbye and bought a firestick. It was easy to install, some of the apps I already use were preinstalled and it was easy to add my apps that weren’t. I love watching TV with the firestick and am thrilled I gave up cable.

I thought my tv was on it’s last leg. My last ditch effort was to replace the firestick & voila, it worked! No need to use the tv remote, the firestick is all in one. Easy set up most of all! Will purchase again when I need to replace:)

Best way to access DirecTV in rooms with none streaming TV and not have to use a DirecTV dongle.
I have a non-smart TV and the Amazon Fire TV Stick, lets me stream Netflix, Prime video, Peacock and other streaming services as well as other free streaming services on the Internet. I subscribe to Netflix and Prime, and enjoy finding free content.

Same functionality as a Roku – at a fraction of the price
My Tivo died and Spectrum is not longer supporting Tivo, so we made the switch to streaming. For the two TV’s we use most often, I bought a Roku and a Firestick. Although the buttons are arranged a little differently, I have yet to discover any difference in functionality (other than the streaming channels contained on the devices. Remaining TV’s are going to get a Firestick because of the better price point.

This will be my 5th Firestick
I love these firesticks. I have 3 TVs in my house. I ditched cable and bought my first one in 2019. Never looked back. However, I just had 2 crash. One is stuck on profile and crashes when I click on profile. The other is when I go on YouTube or NETFLIX it crashes. The Third one will not restart and gave me this problem about 2 years ago. So you get the idea. I watched a lot of YouTube videos, but it will not go to setting and I can not reset them. One advised to unregister the stick and re-register. Now it completely disappeared from my devices, it appears all of it is still on the fire stick and the device and was not cleaned at re-registering which it mentioned it would. About the ones I am currently using. One Firestick is in the TV in the guest room, one in my living room and one in my bedroom. The one I received this week is in the living room TV. They updated the remote a little bit. It was pretty easy to set up. The remote sliding the back to put the batteries in is still tricky and wish they could change this design. The setup is very easy. It walks you through. When you receive the box you put the firestick on the dongle, connect the cable and connect the plug at the end. Plug it into the back of your TV into the HDMI port (select the correct HDMI port on your TV remote) and it walks you through everything. It shows the progress on the screen, asks you which apps to include, and keeps saying update. You can sync all three firesticks. At the end, you pair the remote with the stick and the light will blink blue if all is done and paired. You are ready to enjoy your fire stick!!!

Perfect for tvs less compatible with monitors but VERY possible
I have used these before and the installation, quality of picture, and sound is perfect for tvs but it is not fully compatible with monitors. You CAN use this for your monitor as long as it has a hdmi input, however, when setting up you will likely be unable to fully pair the fire tv remote with a monitor to adjust volume and turn the monitor on and off. There is a code (the IR code I believe it’s called) that monitors aren’t usually made with that allow remotes to pair with the device to control the volume and power. So if you want to use this for a monitor and it is inconvenient to not have full use of the remote this device would likely not work for you. If you don’t mind that particular disconnect then …When setting up, after a number of failed attempts trying to connect the remote (I think I spent ~15mins in this stage), the fire stick will bypass this issue and allow you to continue with the standard setup/login of your account. Once you are signed in and have all the apps you want all you’ll be ready to use it. You’ll only need to do two things manually, turn the monitor on and adjust the volume, once you do those things the remote will work as normal to navigate your apps and it’s a good value for the money. Especially if you don’t have access to a actual tv.

Easy to use and perfect for older TVs
Got this for an older non-smart tv and it does everything I need it to. Connecting to my prime account and wifi were both simple processes, and the picture quality is perfect even with live streams. Only thing I think could be improved is the storage; the apps can be hefty and there’s only about 5gb total, but that is more than enough unless you use every streaming app

It Plays Max
Previous just had a Chromecast. Anytime I would try to cast anything from Max to it the lag was so bad that it was unwatchable.I think because with the firestick you have the app directly downloaded and streaming from the stick it seems to me that it works better. I am now able to pull up the Max app and watch whatever show or movie I want without a bunch of lag.So if you’ve had similar issues I’d highly recommend giving this product a try.

Do you need a fire stick for your best TV operation ?
Our local teleservice provider was updating and upgrading their service and the fire stick was one product they recommended we purchase. We got 3 fire sticks and use them often. They are easy to use and the buttons and icons are well configured. They are compact so be sure to keep track of where you put them down, they could disappear in plain sight, lol

Not completely satisfactory
This item does what it is supposed to do, but is rather clumsy in the user-friendly area. It is a little slow in making changes, but that may be do. at least in part, to my internet being slow. It does contain access to all of the usual sites, but is not easy to navigate. I previously had a Goggle Chromecast and it was much better in that area but did provide all of the same functions as this. If I had it to do over again I would go back to the Google. I switched because I moved and this was available readily from Amazon. I would not recommend against this one, but would rather have the Google.

Works great
I have bought countless universal remotes for my old Samsung tv it was such a hassle, one control I had to reconnect almost every time I turned on the tv. I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to turn the volume up or down but the fire stick does that & more. It turns my tv on and off and I’m amazed that the quality of the screen picture improved as well. Roku has got nothing on the fire stick I wish I would’ve bought this sooner! But I have it now and I’m so happy (: You can download a separate Amazon app to showcase your favorite pictures from your phone on your tv. My tv is old but I truly feel like it’s brand new now!

Basic plug & Play.
The best thing is that you can almost forget it’s there. I had a previous Fire Stick that crossed the rainbow bridge to the great recycler in the sky. With this new puppy, I only need to use the one remote. I can watch Rings of Power, Ring of Fire, or Ring Around the Collar interrupted by fiddling with random remotes

Great device
What can I say? With prime, a great device. Even with other services, a great device. I notice that newer TV sets will not need this, since they bundle much of what this does. I have 3 of these, all work great. ( I have a very slow internet….DSL, only about 2.5 to 3 mbps. Slooooow, but it still works.

Fire stick is the quickest way to turn your boring LCD tv into an amazing smart TV honestly
The only thing I wish was different with the remote would be if at least two of the quick launch buttons was blank and you could program them to launch which ever app you wanted it to but other than that the actual fire stick is smooth easy to set up and if you have even the slightest technical knowledge you can download many more amazing apps

Gets The Job Done
Had the firestick for a year and still have yet to see issues. Every now and then it might be slow to respond but that’s because there’s a cache that needs to be cleared and too much has been store, similar to forgetting to close multiple windows on phone background. All in all provided hours of entertainment and hopefully more years to come.

saved an older tv from the land fill
Arrived Quickly. I Bought A Used 32″ TV for a wall hanger in my bedroom. Seller Stated “Smart TV” and listed the model number I Checked it out and it was. Evidently one letter “s” added at the end of model number changed it to smart or dumb. So I bought this for a college degree for my older TV. Disabled due to my back I have to spend a lot of time in my bed. Fixed Income when this went on sale for 55% less, well off to college for my TV. Would I Recommend this Heck Yes. Would I Buy It Again. If Needed I Would All The Doo Daa Day

Love this
It gave me the option to take pictures from my phone to use as screensavers when I have to pause a show. It’s a lot different than Roku but I’m getting used to it. Don’t like that. I can’t speak my code number for Disney plus like I could on Roku on the fire stick. It wants to look for a movie by the name of my code numbers. And I do like the Roku layout to find my streaming companies better

Review and notes on Firestick HD
This is a review and notes on the Amazon Firesttick HD.Purchased to replace a Roku, to support pairing with two Amazon Echo Studio speakers.Originally had issues with total freeze of audio and video about 30 minutes into a show. The previous device, a Roku, constantly failed to update, and would freeze if trying to go back in a video. Online advice suggested linking the Roku to a phone hotspot, which allowed the update to occur. Obviously there is a wifi issue. The current wifi is ATT fiber-optic, but the router being located in a back bedroom, the signal must pass through three walls, which is a problem. Going into settings, both devices rated the signal as good, not very good or excellent.A TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Router (Archer A54 was hard-wired from the existing modem-router and placed near the Firestick. The Firestick and speakers were matched to the new router and the signal is now excellent.Unfortunately the video freeze would still occur but less frequently. The Firestick was connected to another tv, and did not freeze. The Firestick was connected to a different HDMI port on the main tv, and that helped. The final solution was to not shut off the power strip after turning the TV off. The Firestick apparently likes to have power at all times. The Firestick does have a sleep mode (black screen) which can be seen by manually turning the tv on without using the remote. Hitting any button on the remote brings it back to life.Wordy, I know, but maybe it will help someone resolve a Firestick problem.Would I buy one again? Only to use with wifi speakers, or the 4K version to use with a newer tv. Otherwise I would stay with the Roku.

Say Goodbye to Roku!
I have used various roku devices for the past 10+ yrs to meet all my streaming needs. However, I had run into a few issues w my roku device about a month ago bc quite a few apps(most notably Prime Video) had completely stopped working, and other than scouring their community forums to troubleshoot my roku device, customer support was nearly non-existent(my device was an older model and did not qualify for tech support). The absolute frustration i felt after purchasing a 4k roku stick and a Roku 4k Ultra and finding out that neither were compatible with my older smart tv, I decided to explore other options. I landed on the Amazon Firestick(their most current basic model) after reading lots of reviews on the device. It was also important that whatever device I chose had to have a robust customer support portal to quickly and easily handle any issues that may come up. The Firestick checked all the boxes! Now, compared to my roku express, the user interface is a bit less intuitive on the Firestick, but I had a good understanding of it after spending about a half hour exploring settings, etc. One HUGE benefit of the firestick is that you can open up a browser and sideload 3rd party apps that aren’t available in app store. With the roku express that option wasn’t available to me(though it may be different w newer roku models, it wasn’t a feature mine had). So, maybe the firestick is a bit less user friendly than roku, but navigating through all my options, adjusting and personalizing my settings and app preferences took under an hour before I felt completely comfortable using and maximising all the benefits of my amazon firestick…oh! And I love love love that the remote is alexa enabled and will pair w my echo dot! I know newer roku models have voice activated remotes, but my cheapo and years old roku express did not! Even the most basic firestick has the voice activated remote control! Haven’t really experienced any cons yet, but I’ll update if I do!
